Finn had slept against Vance and Bruce that night. Just like he did previously. Vance had his arms protectively wrapped around him. Bruce's hands were tangled in his hair even while he fell asleep.

Vance woke up first. His arms had a dull pain in them and he looked for the source. When his eyes dropped down, he found Finn snoring softly against his chest. Bruce was behind him, one hand in his hair and one hand on his shoulder. Vance smiled lovingly at the two boys. He was so engulfed in the two that he almost fell out of his bed when he heard a knock from downstairs. Vance was confused and startled. He wasn't expecting anyone and he knew his mom wasn't either. Vance slowly walked over to his bedroom window, making sure not to make himself noticeable as he peeked through the thin blinds.

Robin Arellano was right outside his door.

Vance violently shook Bruce awake. When the boy finally woke up, Vance silently pointed to the window signaling Bruce to look out of it. After Bruce did what he was told, his facial expression turned from annoyed to angry. He turned towards Vance who stood biting his fingernails, and nodded. The two boys looked at Finn before going down the stairs to the front door.

Finn woke up alone and cold. His side and face didn't hurt anymore. He stood up slowly and stretched, hearing a satisfying pop afterwards. When the sleepy feeling had left Finn's body, the boy decided to go look for his friends. He had made it halfway down the stairs when he heard muffled voices.

"Hell no. I'm not letting you anywhere near Finn."
"- tell him something!"
"For all we know you could be trying to kill him."
"- want — apologize."

Finn walked the rest of the way down the stairs and followed the sound of the voices until he was right behind Vance and Bruce. Robin noticed him immediately and smiled. Finn wanted to believe it was genuine, but he knew better.

Vance and Bruce turned around when Robin suddenly got silent, finding Finn there looking confused and half-awake. Robin was about to say something when Vance slammed the door in his face with a tight smile.

"What was that all about?" Finn had asked the two boys, a piece of fried egg stuffed into his mouth.

"Don't talk with your mouth full." Bruce responded with a tilt of his fork. The remark made Vance laugh.

Finn rolled his eyes at the two boys. He thought about what he heard before he approached the door earlier. It sounded like Robin wanted to apologize to Finn for something but Vance and Bruce wouldn't let him. Finn didn't know why, but that thought made him mad. His friends should've gotten him up before talking to Robin.

"Sounded like Robin wanted to apologize." Finn spoke, his mouth now empty of food. Vance and Bruce stared at him like they had just seen a ghost. Finn didn't know why. He gave the two a questioning look before cleaning up his dishes and making his way back upstairs to Vance's room.
_

Vance never cared if Finn or Bruce borrowed his clothes. Finn had actually stolen some of them and didn't plan on ever giving them back. Not that Vance would ask for them. He'd just buy a piece of clothing to replace the stolen ones.

Today, Finn decided to wear a pair of black sweats and a rock t shirt that belonged to Vance. When he went back to his two friends, they weren't looking at him. Or, they weren't looking him in the eye more like. Not even when the boy would crouch down in front of them. Finn sighed and walked to the front door. He could feel two pairs of eyes gazing into the back of his head. He smiled and opened the door.

His smile dropped instantly when the opened door revealed none other than Robin Arellano.

Finn faintly heard Vance yell before something hard hit him in the head, his vision fading to black soon after.
