Snow nuzzled itself against the grass, tucking itself deep beneath its green coat of warmth. Frost covered the windows of neighborhood homes, making everything seem more gloomy than usual.

Finn always hated the winter, hated how it made him have to bundle up so much just to inevitably lead into him catching some form of illness.

It was far into January by now, past the time for stringed lights and decorations. It was a new year, but nothing felt as if it had been changed. Hell, Finn didn't even come up with a single resolution.

Since he couldn't find it in himself to go outside, knowing that he'd return to the comfort of his room no more than three minutes after stepping out the door, Finn decided on resting in his bed.

Yeah, it sounded boring. It was boring. But the more he slept, the more time he wasted. If there was nothing to do anyways, then what's the harm?

Finn sniffled, nose red from the harsh chill coming through his cracked window, as he shuffled himself deeper into his comforter. He had a stuffed t-rex tucked between his arms, nose twitching as the scent of it clouded his mind.

It faintly smelled of strawberry and hershey chocolate, Robin.

Finn missed his best friend, though he took no extra time in attempting to reach out. He'd tell himself that there was no point, mentally deciding that Robin would probably be too occupied in spending time with family to even return the call.

Grasping the stuffed dinosaur closer to his chest, Finn closed his suddenly heavy eyes.

There was a heavy knock at the window, wind howling through the small crack of it as Finn's eyes fluttered open. He could distantly hear the sound of someone speaking, muffled through his half-sleeping state of mind.

"Finn! Dude, it's fucking freezing out here. Get the fuck up." Robin's voice was hoarse, lips trembling from the cold as he held himself up with one hand on the windowsill. After a passing moment, Finn seemed to realize the boy's state and pulled himself out of bed to open the window.

"Thank god. Thought I was gonna die out there, seriously." Robin had peeled off his coat and thrown it over the desk chair, now opting on snuggling deep into Finn's bed and under his bundle of sheets and blankets.

"Not that I'm not glad to see you, but what exactly are you doing here?" Finn's window shut with a semi-loud click, the howling of the wind abruptly stopping as if it were a whistle that had been cut off with a pair of hands on someone's mouth. Robin buried himself deeper into the bundle of warmth, shivering from the sudden wave of heat as he smiled towards Finn.

"You haven't called me all winter break. I missed your voice, your hugs." Finn moved over to the bed, waiting on the side of it as Robin moved over and allowed him space to lay down. "My hugs?" Robin wrapped his arms around Finn's waist, nuzzling into the boy's chest with a soft hum that rumbled up his throat. "Yeah. Your hugs." Finn wrapped an arm loosely around Robin, bringing him even closer to run a hand through his slightly knotted hair.

"I thought you'd be too busy doing family things. That's why I haven't called." Finn's voice was made into a whisper, drifting through the room as if being any louder would wake up the sleeping portion of the world. "I mean, couple of my cousins came over and we had a dinner. But it's been pretty boring." Robin was speaking through faint breaths, sleep overtaking his body as his breathing began to slow into a steady rhythm. Finn smiled down at him, still running a hand through the boy's hair.

"Go to sleep Robin. I'll be here when you wake up, promise." The words were hushed, an echo through a distant sense of love and comfort. Robin silently nodded his head and his breathing went steady, soft snores now escaping his parted lips as he rested against Finn's chest.

"I love you."
