nothing ever goes good with these four in a paint store.

The art room was brightly decorated with floral paintings and hung up fairy lights. Water and abstract paintings lined the cream-colored walls, making the place seemed more cluttered than it actually was. In the front of the room, a tall woman with long black hair clapped her hands, signaling for the students to quiet down. They had been currently working on a finger-painting project, resulting in mess upon mess of spilled paints and different color stained hands.

"It seems we've run out of paint! While I love everyone's enthusiasm, I'm going to need some volunteers to run to the store across the street to retrieve some more material!"

In the center of the classroom, blue eyes met three pairs of brown ones. As if they were acting in a film, the four boys stood at the same time, choruses of "We'll go!" erupting from their mouths. The teacher clasped her hands together, smiling brightly at the teenagers and ushering them out of the room with a pink slip of paper which read "Excuse to leave premises", as well as a short list of art materials they were to go and retrieve.

Bruce, who had the pink slip tightly grasped in his hand, looked at the other boys with a determined expression. He didn't want to mess this up, but if he was going to go to the store with his three best friends, he needed to get the message across. "You guys better not mess this up. It shouldn't take us long." Vance smirked at the statement, dropping his expression when Bruce shook his head. Robin looked at Finn, smiling softly when the boy grinned at Bruce.

The four boys began their walk to the store, three of them having to put a hand over Finn's chest when he seemed to forget that people driving was a regular thing. They soon made it to the small grey building, sighing in relief when they stepped through the doors.

"Okay so we need-"
"How about we split up? It'll go faster."

Bruce glared at Robin, who had so rudely interrupted him while talking. Robin shrugged his shoulders, waiting on the boy's response as he was still the one grasping onto the pink piece of paper. Bruce wanted to decline the offer but he also wanted to get out of the store as quick as possible. Hesitantly, he nodded his head. Robin smiled, turning towards the blonde who was stood next to him. "Vance and I will go together, you and Finn will go together. We'll need half of the list please." Bruce sighed, splitting the pink paper in half and handing a piece to Robin. The two pairs split up after, walking to different parts of the store to retrieve the items.

Everything was going as well as it possibly could be. Finn and Bruce had gotten almost everything on their part of the list. Except for a can of yellow paint. They had looked everywhere besides where the other two boys were. With a shake of his head, Bruce motioned Finn to follow him to the other section of the small store.

—————

"What the fuck."

Bruce and Finn had made it to the other section of the store, gasping in shock when their eyes fell upon the other two boys. Both were covered in different colored paints, their clothes sticking to their chests and backs. Cans of said paint were lazily rolled on their sides, laying against the wall behind the two boys. "Hey! It's not our fault. We tripped!" Bruce scoffed, annoyed that Robin couldn't handle such a simple task of getting art materials. "You couldn't do this one easy thing. Figures." Vance and Finn remained quiet, their eyes watching the scene play out in front of them. "What's that supposed to mean?" Robin basically barked out the question, a challenging look in his eyes. "Whatever you think it means, you complete and utter dumbass." Bruce gasped when a can of paint was thrown at him, staining his shirt quickly with green paint. Bruce looked angrily at Robin, the boy smirking at him as if daring him to do or say something. Vance stood up quite quickly, reaching a hand out for Finn so they could leave the two other boys to what they were doing. Finn happily obliged, letting himself be dragged out of the store towards the outside wall.
—————-

"If you boys come back here, I'll call the police!"

Bruce groaned, glaring once again at Robin. Bruce's entire outfit was covered in paint, additional weight being added onto him because of it. Robin glared back, his clothes now fully stuck to his body. Vance and Finn laughed at the two, unable to control their amusement at their childish fighting.

—————

The art teacher was upset to say the least. So upset, in fact, that she made the three boys who were covered in paint stand in front of the class and present themselves as an art project. Finn, the only one not covered in paint, earned a small llama sticker, smiling brightly at it as he stuck it on his shirt near his heart.

The next time the art teacher needed materials, she made sure not to ask the last boys that went. The last thing the school needed was paint covered boys and a police report.
