27 | SEE THE KIDS

Hours passed and soon working hours were over. Bella, her kids, and Verona went home. Bella washed up, went to the kitchen then started to cook. Verona entered the kitchen.

"Tell me the deets, I've waited long enough. Don't leave me hanging, let me in your love life..." Verona nagged Bella.

"Alright!" Bella started blushing. "I told him everything, I told him about the kids and that night. He hugged me and told me that he was sorry he was not there..." Bella told Verona everything in detail up to where Adane paid the bill.

Verona cheered. Then asked, "Are you going to chase him?"

"I don't know. I still don't understand my feelings for him. Besides, Adane should be the one chasing me. I'm not like you, it took you almost four months to get Mario, that's not me. The thing I'm worried about now is if he is going to take them away from me. I can't let that happen. By the way, when is Susan coming to New York, the AHM firm is already built and she is in charge. If Adane wishes to take them away from me, I won't just stay back and watch. She is the best lawyer I know, and the case is hers if things turn out like that..." Bella sighed. Well, let's chit-chat after dinner, or if you want to taste the bad side of my cooking you can stay."

"I think the bad part of your cooking will taste the same."

"Okay, I'm going to turn the stove off and order take-out. I'm tired anyways."

"I'd rather eat your cooking. We have sufficient time in the future to talk. We don't need to talk after dinner either. Just get some rest after dinner."

Bella laughed, "Aren't you going to learn to be a better cook so you can cook for your husband."

"That's what I have him for. Cooking can be learned when I'm grey and old." Verona giggled.

"I see, well good luck with that."

After the dinner was made, they ate and went to their rooms. Bella took a bath and then went to her bed. She was scrolling through some information about her so-called family when she got a text from an unknown number.

Unknown: "You asleep?"

Bella: "Yes."

Unknown: "Well that's good."

Bella: "Who are you and how did you get my number?"

Unknown: "I'll just make you guess, Can I see the kids tomorrow?"

Bella was stunned, it was Adane. Soon a smile formed on her lips. The thought of seeing Adane again got her heart pounding.

Bella: "It depends, what am I getting out of it?"

Unknown: "Someone told me that I pleasured them well. Sadly, good is not the word I'm looking for. ;)"

Bella's heart rate picked up, her face was getting red. She regretted blabbering her mouth like a parrot.

Bella: "Well, where would you like to meet them, I'm free at noon tomorrow."

Unknown: "The Park is good... Thank you, I never got the chance to say that today."

Bella didn't understand why he was saying thanks, but it didn't matter. Bella changed unknown to Mr Crawford. Then decided to go to bed. As she was about to close her eyes another message came in.

Mr Crawford: "Sweet dreams my lover."

Bella blushed but didn't respond. She went to sleep with a smile tattooed on her face.

The next day at noon, Bella took the kids to the park.

"Mummy, I thought you would be at work all day today. Why are you taking us out?" James asked with a bright smile on his face.

"James! We should have fun. Stop talking nonsense." Camila pouted.

Jeremy and Charlotte didn't pay attention to them, they went to the candy stall.

"Charlotte," Jeremy whispered.

"Yes, and why are you whispering?"

"I heard something interesting last night, do you want an in on it?"

"I'm all ears bro, now tell me the secret."

Charlotte moved her ears closer to Jeremy.

"Last night I was walking by the kitchen and I heard our father's name. I stopped..."

"Did mummy find daddy?" Charlotte cut off Jeremy.

Jeremy nodded. Charlotte started jumping happily.

Seeing their sister jumping, James and Camila went to find out what was funny.

As soon as they arrived where Jeremy and Charlotte were, Charlotte said, "Mummy found daddy."

James acted cool about it and had a smile on his face. On the other hand, Camila started jumping with Charlotte.

Bella sat at the bench near the cake stall and was eating some cheesecake. The children were not in her sight, but she was not worried. She knew they were mature and could protect themselves. Bella ensured that she hired a martial arts teacher to train them. She didn't want them to get hurt. Bella also had a tracking bug in their watches in case anything happened.

At this time Bella was wondering what took Adane so long to get to the park. They agreed to meet at noon there, but Adane was nowhere to be found and it was already ten minutes past noon. Bella sighed. 'Maybe he won't come. What was I hoping for anyway? A man like him would probably never accept me or his children.'

After a while, Camila and Charlotte came back and sat beside Bella.

"Mummy, James, and Jeremy went into the horror house. They said we would be scared so we did not follow them." Camila said.

"It's okay, what about, I take you on the Mary-go-round?"

"We just went on that. No thanks."

"Okay, what do you want?" Bella asked.

"Cake!" Camila and Charlotte answered in unison.

Adane arrived at the park and was now looking for Bella. He was not wearing his regular work outfit, instead a baby blue T-shirt, black Jeans and blue kickers.

As he walked around, he felt he was being stared at, he didn't pay any attention to it, because it always happened. He walked around until he spotted Bella sitting down.

He had a faint smile on his lips. The smile later waned when he saw two sweet little girls beside her.

'Bella said she had two boys, but why are there two girls beside her now? Did she lie to me? Did she have my boys and then have those girls with another man?'

Adane was rooted in that same spot. He didn't believe that Bella would lie to him. What she said yesterday seemed like the truth. Adane was lost in thought until he felt something tug him on his right leg.

He turned around and met James and Jeremy.
