48 | HE IS MY HUSBAND

Bella blushed. "Okay, I'll go now." She tried to get up but couldn't. Bella looked at Adnae, "I won't do anything in your office. You'll just have to wait until you get home."

"There is a bed in the room just behind that door," Adnae pointed to a door at the back.

"Maybe another time, but i have to meet with Verona to discuss some matters then take up the kids from school."

"You can meet with Verona tomorrow and I'll just let Stephan take up the kids."

"You didn't beg me when i asked, so no." Bella giggled.

"Okay, you can go."

After Bella got up she looked at Adane, "Why didn't you beg me?"

"Because, our roles aren't reversed. You are the one that should be asking, not me." Adnae smirked.

"We'll see about that." With that Bella left.

When Bella went down to the lobby, she saw Mia talking to a familiar person. She knew she saw the person before, but as to who she was, she didn't know.

Bella decided to let it be and then strode towards the exit. Before she could leave a security guard stopped her. "Miss, The receptionist would like to speak to you."

"And why is that?" Bella looked at him curiously.

"She- she says that you have some unfinished matters to take care of."

Bella sighed, "okay."

Bella ambled towards Mia's desk. A mocking smile plastered on her face. "You wanted to speak to me?" She questioned.

Mia pointed to the woman she was talking to, "no, her." She replied.

"Hello." Bella turned to face the woman with a smile, this time it was more pleasing but when she saw the face of the person her smile froze.

The person before her was the lady she saw in the bathroom at the restaurant a few days before. Bella now wanted to know who this person was.

Mia continued, "This is Mr. Crawford fianceé, she is here to set you straight."

Bella almost choked when she heard the latter part of Mia's words. She looked the lady straight in the eyes and asked. "Is that true?"

"Yes. Of course Adane is my fianceé, Now who are you and why are you messing around with him?" The lady asked.

The word 'fianceé' shocked Bella to her core. 'Who was this lady she questioned, why haven't I heard of her.? What was Adane Hiding? Did he have another family? No wait, she said fianceé, they are not married, but we aren't married either."

Bella decided that she wanted to go along with the conversation and to figure out who this person was so she answered, "My name is Annabella Cain, and you might be?"

The lady looked shocked, "Aren't you Hanna-Kay Cain, wife of Carlos Crawford?" The lady asked ignoring Bella's question.

"If you knew that was my name, why did you ask?"

"I-I-I was just confirming my doubts that's all. I'm Katelyn by the way. Katelyn Forbes."

"Doubts about what, Miss Forbes?"

"I thought a married woman was planning on trying to be with Adane."

"Is that so?"

"Yes, are you related to Hanna-kay Cain?"

"That's my twin sister." Bella said looking towards Mia, "You still think I'm a slut?"

"Who knows, she is your sister after all. Plus, you were in Mr Crawford's office not long ago. Isn't that some what suspicious?"

"Why did you go up to his office just now, you aren't dressed like you came to do business." Katelyn asked

"The reason as to why I went in his office and what I did in there does not concern you."

"It does, he is my Husband after all."

"Husband?" Bella scoffed, "I thought you said earlier that he was your fianceé. Is Miss Forbes claiming a title that doesn't belong to her?"

"You little..."

"Why are you losing your temper, If you say he is your fianceé, then he must be your husband soon. Now how long has it been since you were engaged to him?" Bella was provoking Katelyn at the same time while trying to know more about her relationship with Adane.

"It's an arranged marriage. His family favors me. What about you, your family's business has just gone bankrupt, what do you have to offer to Adane?"

"I can offer what you can and everything you can't." Bella giggled.

Katelyn scoffed, "yeah, right."

"Miss Cain is acting a little too bold, don't you think." Mia chipped in.

Bella turned and gave her a glare.

"Okay ladies, I think it's time for me to take my leave, I have some business to attend to."

When Bella walked off she heard Katelyn, "You better stay away from my man."

"Tell him that." Bella said then left.

As soon as Bella got in her vehicle she searched up the relationship between Adane and Katelyn. The first news that popped up was a press conference where Adane called off the engagement with her three months ago.

Thinking about it she realized that that was around the time she met Adane. Bella wanted the full story so she was planning on asking about it that night. She had a lot of questions, 'I get why the marriage was arranged, must have been something similar to mine, but why did Adane call it off? Was it because of me? Or was it because of the children? Why was Katelyn still claiming to be Adane's fianceé? Was the press conference a fake. Is Adane with still Katelyn?'

Bella then drove off and went to the restaurant to meet Verona. On her way she couldn't stop thinking about Adane and Katelyn, 'why didn't he tell me about her?' she questioned.

When Bella arrived at the restaurant, she went in the private booth and sat down. Verona wasn't there as yet so she ordered a strawberry daiquiri.

She took out her phone to call Adane and asked about it, but then she didn't.

A while later Verona entered the booth. "Why is your face like that, what's wrong?"

Bella looked up to meet Verona, she concealed her expression with a smile, "It's nothing, I was just thinking about what to do with my family's business."

Verona didn't pry any further, she just sat down and they started talking.

"So are you going to tell me how was it?"

"It's been about three months since you guys have been together and you haven't told me anything, do you love leaving your friend in the dark?"

Bella giggled, "I was so drained, I wasn't able to make it to work."

"That good huh?"

"Yeah, I guess." She then muttered to herself, "Will be the last for now though."
Verona didn't hear what she said.

"So what's your plan for the company?"

"I told my parents that I'd be taking over the company in a months time, so I'll be terminating my contract with the AHM group soon."

"I see, but with that much damage caused by the scandal between your sister and Carlos, are you planning on cooperating with the AHM group and the AB group to fix the damages?"

"I will cooperate with them, but not until I fix the damages myself. I don't want anyone thinking that I have to depend on others to fix my business, it's not like I'm incompetent."

"Okay, so enough of the work stuff, Is he planning on getting married?"
