Klaus wondered if this moment would ever leave his mind. When he'd heard the news that Eva was with his child he'd felt the joy blooming in his chest, despite the nervousness filling his veins.

He'd never known what a good father was, but he'd held strong knowing Eva was there and that his brother would always be there to support him, given that in a way he too was the child's father. But what was happening now threatened to ruin all his beliefs.

Elijah stood in front of him akin to an enemy and from there Klaus could feel Elijah remembering all the times he'd made his life miserable.

"Do not do this brother. This is not you. It is true I have done you wrong on many occasions but none of that had made us estranged or enemies."

Before Klaus could continue anymore both the brothers felt their mate's presence.

"Niklaus, Elijah..." Eva felt her chest tighten at the tension between her two mates. Having managed to join them, Eva knew they needed to hurry. Both she nor Niklaus did not really contain the power to wake up Elijah.

He had to break through his mind's constraints.

Slanting an assuring look at her Niklaus who looked ready to either curl up in a ball or better yet tear out some throats Eva walked towards Elijah.

"Elijah my love, you must wake up. Do not let your mind control you."

Elijah's eyes visibly softened at the sight of his mate, his hand reaching to caress her fair cheek.

Eva felt the love in his touch, yet he felt different as if all the inhibitions holding him back, in reality, had finally been released free.

Elijah felt the overwhelming need to lash out, to demand justice. How? He did not know, yet the urge felt so strong he did not know what he was even feeling anymore. As he conversed with his brother all Elijah could feel was the betrayals and hurt life had brought him as if some unknown power was guiding him to wallow in the negative emotions warning him away from the light.

He could feel his mate's presence too, her soft hands caressing his face and urging him to wake up.

"Elijah... Elijah, my love, don't only think of the pain darling... think of all the happy moments you've had with your family. Don't let her win. Come back to me, my love..." Eva charmed her voice making it reach the depths of Elijah's mind. It was not an option she would have liked since charm magic was in many ways perceived to be offensive, yet at this moment she'd rather take the risk for she could feel Elijah's mind slipping away.

It seemed to work as Elijah was no longer aggressive, yet she could only do so much, for him to truly wake up, only Elijah had the strength.

"What happened?" Eva inquired, looking at her other beloved who looked crestfallen.

At the question, Niklaus let out a bitter laugh shaking his head, "Nothing love, just my past once again haunting me."

He did not want Eva to know what happened. It would just make things worse and more hurtful for both Elijah and Eva.

Just then they both felt the surroundings becoming unstable, the world created within Elijah's mind crumbling down as they were both ejected outside signifying Elijah's breakthrough from the spell which had been holding his conscience hostage.

As the three slowly opened their eyes the other should have felt relieved, yet they all eyes each other as they felt the heavy air between the three.

Kol slowly moved his head towards Caroline whispering softly, "Why do I feel as if we missed the climax of the whole drama?"
