~Eva's POV~

A few days passed after the whole fiasco where in between I had the time to visit my realm and set back order before coming back with Barak in tow. Of course, before that, I did not forget to give back Bonnie's magic, and currently, everything was calm.

Except for the weird feeling I got when I visited home. Obviously, the realm had changed over the millenniums but with my arrival, the matters were back on track. And Alexandros and his siblings were there to govern on my behalf reporting the necessary for me.

But what puzzled me was this nagging feeling that they were hiding something from. Yet everything seemed quite normal, maybe I was too paranoid.

Shaking my head at the absurd thought I joined my arm with Rebekah's as we strolled into the grill to relieve some boredom.

"So how had your new lover boy been?" I questioned nudging the blushing sister of mine who immediately had a ridiculously wide grin on her face. And immediately I regretted asking.

Just the twinkle in her eyes was enough to bring goosebumps to my arms.

Obviously, the pair was sweet as candy.

"He has been very lovely, only he had to leave this morning due to some urgent matter. All your fault for being a slacker." Rebekah stated haughtily before complaining making me laugh at her show of love, all the while wondering how this bloodthirsty girl could be so cute.

"I can see by your expression you are mocking me for being too infatuated, but you are not the one suffering when you with my brothers and the Salvatore boys. It is absolutely unbearable, one time Caroline even proposed making herself bling so she could stop seeing the overly doting they are doing." She admonished with care while I laughed with pride, obviously not denying.

"Thank you love, but please don't, it will be quite painful to grow them back.." I murmured making her swat at me in annoyance.

Finally, we made it to a table without doubling over in laughter like silly idiots, ordering some snacks to keep ourselves occupied.

"Say, what do you plan to do next?" Rebekah questioned sipping on her drink while munched on the fries I got myself.

"Nothing really. But I'm sure something would land itself in Mystic Falls, bringing a string of troubles with it." I muttered waving my hand carelessly as Rebekah nodded knowingly completely understanding what I meant.

"What about you? What are you going to do about Marcel?" I asked her then curious to know what she planned to do.

While I may know quite a bit about what was going to happen and little extra details, it was absolutely not my place to decide their lives for them.

It was only if the situation became life-threatening that I would intervene, after all my presence alone had made a lot of things deviate from their original trajectories.

Speaking it as such, I could not help but blush in embarrassment at the narcissism hidden within the sentences, but what could I do? It was the truth after all.

Throwing away the nonsensical thoughts scattering through my brain I focused on Rebekah who had gone suddenly unusually silent, her light eyes dimming at the mention of Marcel the magnificent Idiot with a capital 'I'.

"If I'm being honest I actually do not know what to think of the situation. For more than a hundred years I've been thinking that he was dead, and for half of that time, I've been in a box. I'm kind of grateful if I actually think about it now. So yes, I don't know what to think." Rebekah answered consciously confusion and loss swirling in her eyes.
