~Bonnie's POV~

Holding a glass of wine in my hand and smoothing down the non-existent wrinkles on my printed wrap dress, I smiled at the people trying my best to show that I was enjoying my evening. I hoped my mask hid how flustered I was feeling.

Taking a sip of the wine I tried to calm my jittery nerves. If everything was going to go according to the plan then I already have done my part of the plan but Eva's warning about Katherine having herself connected someone had me on edge.

At times like these, I admire Eva's personality. Her uncanny ability to take any situation lightly as if she did not have a care.

Taking a sip of the cool liquid to calm me as I eyed the Salvatore brothers as they mingled about talking with each other while looking around as if searching for someone. The two seemed to have left their hearts somewhere.

Taking my gaze off of the Salvatore brothers I searched for my own heart, and there he stood entertaining the guests with his mother. With or without the mask I would have recognized him easily.

Finally, a smile graced my lips as I walked towards him, and seeing me approach he too smiled showing the smirk that I both loved and hated.

There was a time when I did not particularly care for Tyler Lockwood. The boy, all in all, had been a flirty jerk who had girl hanging off of him half of the time.

But then Eva happened, with her meddling plans and inlook into the future he somehow entered into my world filled with spells, herbs, blood, and dangerous creatures.

At first, it was just me being cautious, careful that he would not babble to anyone or that he would not take stupid risks after getting to know about his werewolf heritage.

Then he became my friend, the person who I could vent to and talk to. and he listened, though it did come with a heavy dose of flirty comments and sarcastic interruptions. Slowly our conversations lengthened, feelings were shared and when he finally confessed his feeling I already knew who he was to me.

I was both elated and wary of the fact because it was very difficult for even vampire to find their mates and they lived for centuries and it was even more difficult for a witch to find their mate. We had very short life spans than vampires and some of us are not even graced with one.

And to find out that my mate had been right in front of me this whole time, I was ecstatic! But still, I did not tell any of this to Tyler. After he confessed I even tried to keep my distance because I knew, he was still human and a mate bond may seem a little intimidating to someone like him.

But he did not relent, going as far as to disturb Eva to help him turn into a werewolf, so he could be strong enough to be with me, not knowing he had it all wrong.

And then the witch attack happened. The unknown group of witches' attack triggered Tyler's werewolf curse and in an instant, he felt the bond he could not feel when he was still human.

And now here we are, no more secrets between us and he too was one of the dangerous creatures becoming a permanent fixture in my non-human world.

"Hey!" I greeted gently and Mrs. Lockwood left us alone with a knowing smile.

"Hey beautiful, you look stunning." He gave me a big smile before stealing a long kiss from me. When we parted, a giggle escaped me at his playful behavior.

"Everything ready for today?"

"Yeah, but Damon and Stefan are restless. Eva's not here yet." He nodded in understanding, when it came to Eva the Salvatore brothers did not care for anything else.
