~Eva's POV~
"You two! Stop bickering, we have to go!" I yelled at my mates who were dawdling at the doorstep arguing about who's hair is better.
Apparently, Jenna's barbeque was still happening and Mason Lockwood was still invited so since we haven't officially met me, Stefan and Damon thought to tag along. With an invitation of course, at least there is one for me. I guess that counts.
"Coming!" They yelled back as I unlocked the car sitting in the backseat.
Soon the two got in, Damon taking the job of being the driver.
Looking at the two my heart was having a rare moment of feeling warm, probably the tell-tale sign of being in love.
Almost everyone was present when the three of us arrived. And like I expected meeting with Mason Lockwood went well, to say the least.
Damon controlled himself from testing any silver knives while Stefan had a tight watch on his brother making me almost feel sorry for Damon. Sometimes I do wonder who was the eldest of the two.
Now with my mates, Alaric, Jenna, Caroline, and Elena occupied in the living room, it was me and Mason who remained behind in the kitchen. The man was washing a pouring himself a drink looking very much relaxed, well he was going to need the drink in the next few seconds, for he is going to be not so much relaxed.
"Hi, we haven't met, I'm Eva King." I introduced myself offering him my hand.
"Oh yes. Nice to meet you, Mason Lockwood." He returned smiling brightly.
I sighed inside. This man was completely innocent and innately good and darling Katherine had to drag him into her schemes. How pitiful.
"Tyler told me about you." I started, "That you currently live in Florida."
"Yeah. This town doesn't really suit me." He shrugged taking another sip of his glass.
I leaned on the counter my elbows firmly planted on the tile as I studied him.
Should I be direct or should I play a game? But that would mean working my brain a little more and I'm currently very much lazy to go about that.
So being direct it is.
"And he also told me you were looking for a certain stone," I told making him straighten immediately looking at me with caution now, earlier nonchalant tossed to aside.
"I don't know what you are talking about." The werewolf tried to look casual but his obviously tense form implied otherwise. He was terrible at acting.
"No need to act. I do not wish to talk too much, it is very troublesome. I'll talk directly. I know you are looking for the moonstone which you intend to give to Katherine in the hopes she would break the sun and the moon curse." I waited to see how he would react.
And indeed as I expected he was wide-eyed in shock.
"How do you know?" He demanded.
"Oh, I know a great deal of things but first I need to make sure you do not die. Don't take me wrong I do not care whether you live or die, but you dying here would make your pack bak in Florida flood here which would n return bring heaps of unnecessary trouble. So I'm going to tell you some stuff and whether you believe them is your problem."
He nodded still looking befuddled.
"There are several things, Katherine is the reason you turned to a werewolf, she does not want the moonstone to break the curse but something else, and her main purpose for keeping you by her side is to kill you, well eventually. If that failed I'm sure she would find Tyler. That's it I guess. And don't ask these things from Katherine directly, do be discrete, we don't want you to die would we?" I murmured moving away from there intending to go to my mates.
