Stefan waited for Elijah and the rest to arrive, hoping it was good news and that Dahlia was taken care of. He and Damon had remained behind along with Caroline, and Finn to make sure Dahlia would not blindside them by simply taking Eva unaware.

"Stefan!" Damon suddenly shouted, making the rest of them look at him in alarm.

"What's the matter? What happened?" Stefan sped upstairs looking around for a threat, only to find a grinning Damon making Stefan want to throttle the idiot.

"She is awake." All images of bashing his brother's head left his mind at the news. Excited and relieved he went into Eva's room finding her sitting up, her face pale and sweaty.

"Stefan," Eva murmured, looking at him tiredly.

"How are you? Are you okay?" Stefan examined Eva, wanting to make sure she was fine and that nothing was wrong. But to both of their despair, she shook her head, "They are ready to come out. My water broke." Eva gently dropped the bomb on them making the two males petrified.

"What?" They exclaimed before one rushed to carry her while the other looked around not knowing what to do with his hands.

When Finn and Caroline arrived, hearing the news this is what they saw. Cursing in exasperation, Caroline started ordering them.

"Stefan, get Eva, we are going to the hospital. Damon called Klaus and the others. I will take care of the rest."

But before they could move Eva tugged at Stefan's hand shaking her head.

"No, we cannot go to the hospital. My magic is in chaos, I'm trying hard to control it. The moment I let go, the hospital will not be able to bear it." Eva mumbled, making the other occupants of the room look at each other in concern.

"You need to call them now!" Finn demanded, knowing the four of them were not enough in this situation.

"Already on it." Damon dialed Klaus's number and thankfully it did not go to voicemail.

...

Getting rid of Dahlia's remains the entourage got ready to go back. And just then Klaus's phone rang. The news from the other end made Klaus and the others with heightened hearing fall into a panic, while Freya looked at them confused.

"What happened?"

"Eva is in labor. We need to get back home now." Rebekah exclaimed, hurrying as Klaus and Elijah flashed into the car, ready to get back to their mate.

...

Eva felt her body tremble from the onslaught of magic inside of her body, her hands protectively curved around her stomach. She was afraid something might happen to them. Stefan and Damon looked beside themselves, as they surrounded her trying to reassure her, and their presence did help somewhat.

But fear was a constant companion. She was the first of her kind, a special existence even amongst them, so she did not have prior knowledge of how pregnancies worked, especially such magically gifted children. When everything had been fine at the beginning she had thought this would be similar to other guardian pregnancies, yet Niklaus's bloodline was strangely dominant for a mortal bloodline.

She assumed it had something to do with his unique hybrid status.
Just as the pain in her increased, the air in the room shifted and two guardians appeared in the room.

"We arrived as soon as we felt it," Alexandros informed, relieved to find Eva still conscious. His sister moved forward, gently moving Stefan and Damon away when they tried to protest. She took hold of Eva's hand soothing her softly.

"It will be fine Drakaina, soon they will be here." She whispered and Eva felt herself relax slightly.

"Why is this happening?" Her voice trembled due to her earlier agitation.
