As her brother's requested Rebekah and Kol with their mates arrived at New Orleans, slightly marveling at the changes it had gone under, and most of all Rebekah was apprehensive of meeting Marcel again.
Barak knew it was going to be emotionally draining for Rebekah to meet her first mate again, and after all this time he did not have much of an impression on the man. He had chosen power over his other half, and that was small of the man no matter the reason behind his actions.
Settling down at their new home had been easy, Kol and Caroline finding a room quite far away from the rest requiring their space as the two remained immersed in their world.
While Rebekah and Barak quickly got dragged into the drama surrounding them.
"Do you have everything I asked for?" Barak questioned arriving at the living room where everyone stood, except for the tied-up witch who looked worse of wear, cheeks tear-stained.
The witches had done something stupid. If you require hostages you take someone very much cared for and someone who you are sure you can control. Not Damon Salvatore the definition of uncontrollable.
Evangelina sure had been made mate to the most peculiar creatures. One recklessly uncontrollable, the other a remorseful ripper, one a vengeful villain dubbed the great evil, and the other a killer under a mask of honor.
But at the same time, the love they could provide their other half was immeasurable and he was currently witnessing that as they stood in front of him looking unaffected by anything but at the same time, there was this longing surrounding them as if they were not complete.
"We have the witch, Damon, the spell, and their blood. You are good to go." Klaus walked closer standing next to Elijah peering at their sister's mate.
"Good," Barak replied before getting to work, Rebekah staying right beside him as she watched him get into his element the magic he was using washing through herself too, her connection to him showing just how much power he was hiding despite being so low-key.
Her mate unlike her was not one for attention and at times everyone tended to forget just how powerful he was. If not he would not have been assigned to guard a world once. And at that moment Rebekah swore she would never forget how precious her mate was. The first man in her entire life who did not disappoint her at all.
Barak did as he agreed, after chanting the spell the link connecting the witch and Damon severed, Sophie, inhaling sharply as she felt the magic that was cast upon her lifting.
"It's done." She muttered disappointingly, "I felt it lift." All the trouble her sister went through was for nothing. The vampire and his family managed to render it all useless, especially the man In front of her.
He had magic so powerful that it was not something she'd ever seen, not even in Davina.
It was at that moment that she understood, there was a far more powerful variable playing at here, ones that they have no idea of.
Thinking of this she felt cold fear struck her heart, yes fear for everything was no under their control anymore and from what she'd heard these days, trying to eavesdrop there seem to be another person, very important to this family that had not made their presence known yet.
She had to warn her people. Was the first thought that swept through Sophie's mind but it was soon extinguished when they cast her eyes towards her.
Damon quickly flashed towards her before jerking her up and then before she could blink he bit her on the neck, the action violent and unforgiving as he took his anger on her and he only stopped because he was dragged away by an annoyed Rebekah who knew the witch was still of use to them.
