𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐁𝐖𝐖𝐌)

𝐖𝐞𝐢𝐫𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧

Today is my first day working at Harvest Cafe.  I only got the job because Adrian told Polo can he put a good word in for me to his boss.

And he did so now I have the job and I can have anything I want now. I feel so lucky right now and I'm glad I didn't have to wait a week just to get accepted or declined.

"I remember giving you that journal" I look up to see Mary smiling "yea," I say closing the journal. "I'm surprised it's not full yet," she says flicking through the pages.

I put the book up in my bag "I just started writing it in before I moved here. Life got out of hand and so I write. Summer was complaining saying "the book might as well be your best friend."

I laugh just thinking of her. I miss her I'm going to call her one of these days this week. Mary laughs "I remember me and my best friend couldn't live without each other like y'all"

I roll my eyes "please don't bring up your time in the 1920s" she playfully hits me "don't play with me, girl. I'm not that old" I laugh "I know I was just messing with you. What happened?"

She shrugs her shoulders "I was busy with work. She was busy with work we barely talked and now we only call each other to check on each other." I nod "I'm sorry that happened."

She shakes her head "there's no reason to apologize where grown-ups things like that happen. It's neutral"  I guess. I watch as she pulls into the cafe's parking lot.

"We are here," she states putting the car into the park she points a finger at me  "if that boy is causing you trouble let me know so I can choke him right on up" I laugh.

I lower her hand "I can handle him by myself mother" she nods "good cause I don't want to go to jail" she jokes. I smile hugging her "thanks for caring" she hugs me back.

"Of course, I'm your mother" I back away grabbing the door handle "I won't be able to come to pick you up so would you mind calling your brother" I shake my head "I can do that."

I leave out of the car "now have a good day at work bunny" I smile "you too" I close the door heading to the cafe door saying it's closed. I walk inside the neat medium-sized cafe.

I walk up to the counter where Apollo stood "we are closed right now" he grunts looking up at me and pausing once he realized I am not a customer. "I'm an employee now," I say smiling.

He nods "right I forgot" he opens the small door and I walk inside "today you are not going to be doing anything. I'll just teach you some things and put some orders on the table and that's it."

I nod "understood" he goes to the back room and I follow putting my things down "Here is an apron for you with your name on it so you won't get confused."

I take an apron and put it on me fixing myself "how long have you been working here?" I ask. "For a year," he say then turned to me.

"Can you be serious about this job? I put in a good word for you to work here and you have to show that I was right the boss is strict he'll fire me and you. So no games ight?"

I nod at the sudden aggression he killed the vibe I don't like him anymore. He begins to point at stuff explaining what they are.
