Kartik and Naira were still standing outside the room with her hand in his. None of them uttered a word as they started growing comfortable in each other's gaze and the silence that surrounds them.
Shubham who was passing by saw them and walked towards them shouting "Bhabhi...bhabhi"
Hearing him Kartik and Naira came back to reality. Kartik's grip on her hands loosened and she took her hands away and turned to walk away but her way was blocked by Shubham
"Bhabhi...mein aapse hi milne aaya tha"said Shubham while Kartik frowned
"Ji...kahiye" said Naira
"Bhabhiji ....aapka yeh ji oh ji suno ji toh aapke peeche kade hai..mein toh aapka devar hoon aap mujhe Shubham kahiye " chuckled Shubham
"Teek hai Shubham" said Naira
"Thats good ...waise bhabhi aap ek doctor ho isiliye aapse kuch puchna chahtha hoon, woh kya hena pichle do dinon se mera bhai jo hena unki dil ka haal kuch teek nahi hai uskeliye koi ilaj hai aapke paas?"said Shubham
"Shubham..." gritted Kartik
"Ilaj toh aapke saamne kadi hai Shubham" said Gayu as she walked towards them
Kartik's cheeks flushed at this comment and on how both of their families complimented each other in pulling his and Naira's leg. While Naira couldn't move her eyes off the ground and her heart was thudding against the chest wall.
"Gayu is right hena Kartik?" came the voice of Swadheenta
"Baap re one cant stand the taunts and teases of one of them now with all of them together what will I do?"screamed the inner Kartik
"My dear people will you please let us go?" Asked Kartik
"Us? What an improvement bhaiya" giggled Shubham
"Shubham maar kaana hai kya?"threatened Kartik
"Baap re mein toh dar hi gaya" squealed Shubham
"Ab bas bhi karo yaar"said Kartik
"Teek hai teek hai...dinner is ready thats why I came to call you" said Swadheenta
"But bhaiya will not need dinner. Unki pet toh baaton se hi bhar jayega"chuckled Shubham
"Shubham.."glared Kartik
"Sorry bhabhi...friends?" Asked Shubham
Naira who was embarrassed beyond words by all the leg pulling that happened till now finally raised her eyes to look at her devar who was extending his hand to her. She gave her hand and he shook it vigorously till he caught Kartik's stare.
On seeing his brother staring Shubham left Naira's hand
"So bhabhi...aapko dining table pe milte hai..chalo Swadheenta bhabhi" Shubham dragged Swadheenta and left from there
"Kartik...Naira ..everyone has started to gather for dinner...agar aap dono ko saath mein dekhenge toh pura dinner aapki topic hi chalega...isiliye...."Gayu said
"No worries...aap log jayiye Ill join you at the table in few minutes " said Kartik with a smile
Naira and Gayu left from there. With every step Naira turned back to look at him and he was enjoying this attention from her.
When Kartik reached the dinner table he was beyond surprised to find the food items lined in front of him
"Kartik beta come sit with us..." gestured Mohit
