The return journey was so relaxing. Kaira were seated next to each other as usual and the entire journey went off with the goody goody feels. Once back Kartik was so busy with the case. The court proceedings turned out in their favour and the pressure filled case was finally over. The police department got proud of DSP Kartik Goenka for cracking the case in the most efficient way. It was then decided that the next day evening there would be a party to celebrate this case closure and to wish Kartik for being selected as the special training officer. It was a family friendly event so every officer was to bring their spouse to the event. Till then Kartik excused such parties stating he was single but this time he badly wanted to take Naira with him. So soon as he returned from the SP office he had contacted Naitik and got his permission to take Naira with him. He then informed Swarna and got her permission too. Only after that he breathed of relief
With all that done he finally sat in his cabin. Leaning against the chair his thoughts flew to Naira. He desperately wanted to talk to her as they hadn't spoke since the time they bid bye in the airport. He checked the time and found it to be beyond 2 pm. He decided to message her
"Good afternoon Dr.Sahiba" he messaged her and sighed
Within seconds she replied
"I was just thinking of you...good afternoon DSP sir" she had sent
"Waah waah..someone has started admitting stuff openly....on that note shall I call?" He sent
"Most welcome ☺️" she sent
"The trip had really bridged so much gap" he thought and dialled her number
"Duty time pe humare baare mein kya soch rahi thi Dr.Sahiba?" He asked
"That if you had your lunch or not" she said
Thats when Kartik realised that he hadn't had his lunch
"Mar gaya" he thought
"Woh..Dr.Sahiba...just now everything got over...ab khalunga...please call mat khatna" he said
Naira smiled
"Please jaldi kha lijiye" she said
"Sure...sure...waise whats up?" He asked
"Kuch nahi...mein aur Suhana opd mein hai...aaj patients kam hai isiliye sitting simply" she said
"Waise tumse kuch kehna tha" he said
"Haan boliye" she said
"The case was a victory for us and to celebrate that victory our department people have arranged a party tomorrow evening, we are to bring our spouses, so if you could accompany me it will be great and in that way I can introduce my fiance to everyone" he said
"I would love to ...bas papa se puchke" she said
"Unki permission leliya hai maine...maa is also okay with it..." he said
"Yeh sab kab kiya aapne?" She asked
