It was midnight. After all that had happened in the evening a tired Kartik was sleeping like a log when his mobile beeped with constant notifications. Rubbing his eyes in irritation as he was being woken up he picked his mobile from the side table. Opening the messenger he saw messages from an unknown number

Kartik's eyes scanned the mobile screen for a few minutes. He knew that his profession was associated with risks so a life threat didn't create a fear in his heart rather his mind was curious. He had thought that the case was over with the raid and arrest but these messages made it sure that he had just began something big with this arrest.
Leaving a deep sigh he called Gautham. Gautham attended the call swiftly as he knew that a call at this hour must be imminent
"Jai hind sir" said Gautham
"Jai Hind Gautham...Ill send you a number mujhe uska saara details chahiye..." said Kartik
"Sure sir...Ill get it by tomorrow" said Gautham
"Aur haan...aaj ka raid file ke saath Mihir se woh bachon wali files aur Bikaner mein jo truck sieze hua hai uska files bhi attach karle...and meet me in the office tomorrow along with Trisha" said Kartik
"Okay sir" said Gautham
"Good night Gautham" said Kartik
"Good night sir" said Gautham and the call disconnected
Placing the mobile aside he turned towards Naira's side and his heart almost stopped on finding it empty. Pushing the blanket off he quickly got up and walking ahead he was about to shout her name when his eyes fell on a figure standing out in the balcony under the moonlight. Recognising it to be Naira he sighed of relief and slowly walked outside. Opening the door with utmost care to not make a noise he slowly tip toed to her and scooped her into his arms.
