Dinner was over and everyone were busy talking among themselves. Naira rushed out after her important call on knowing that Kartik was to leave for a meeting. Her dress was making it difficult for her to maintain her pace yet she didn't mind it as she didn't want to miss her chance to see him one last time before he left. As she reached out she saw him standing in the porch. On seeing that she was running he made a gesture to her asking her to slow down and assuring that he would wait. Panting hard Naira walked to him
"Aaram se aaram se...." He said holding her as she slipped , stepping on her lehenga

"Woh ...mujhe...mujhe laga tha...ki" she said stabilising herself
"Ki mein tumse milne bager chala jaunga? How can you think so?" He asked
"Woh...bhabhi ne kaha tha ki Gautham aaya hai aapko kisi important meeting mein le jane keliye..isiliye meine socha tha ki aap nikhal gaye honge" she said still gathering her breath
"Ab jab tumhare saath teej manane keliye Nainital se Udaipur aaya hoon tab ek proper send off ke bina kaise jaunga" he said
Snap...the term send off sent chills down her spine. The meet was so unexpected for Naira and she didn't realise that it was a brief one till this while. Now realising it she fumbled. Her greedy heart yearned for a longer stay but her mind warned her not to get emotional .
"Itni raat mein meeting?" She asked trying to overcome her heart's desire
"Haan woh...actually aaj subah ek meeting thi uska phase 2 hai yeh" he said
"Par Aap toh Nainital Mein special officer ho na" she asked
"Haan hoon..par yahan ka DSP bhi hoon..ab bas Gautham aur Mihir meri files handle karlenge..mujhe bas kabhi kabhi meetings keliye aana hoga..yeh meeting toh agle hafte ka tha...meine aaj keliye prepone kardiya so that we need not miss our Teej" he said
How much efforts had he taken just to make her day special she thought. This only made it difficult for her to digest the fact that he was going back. While she was lost in thoughts he was lost in her
Breaking her thoughts came Gautham's voice
"Sir...SP sir is also up for the meeting...so chalein?" He asked
"Kartik...Gautham is calling you" she said getting him back to reality
Kartik hesitated , he didn't want to leave but he knew that he had to. He also knew that staying any longer will only make it difficult for him to leave. Gathering himself he sighed and said "Hmm...teek hai...chalta hoon...aur haan aaj ke baad apni health ka dyan rakhlo..." he said
