Cara’s POV
The girls were going dress shopping. We all procrastinated until the last moment. Prom was four days away and none of us had our dresses. I pulled up to the dress shop we were meeting at. It was a wedding dress shop but we figured this was the best option. A cream Volkswagen beetle bug pulled into the spot next to me. Kayleigh didn’t even notice me. Her sunglasses were on and she looked frazzled. She was worried she wouldn’t find the right dress for Seth. On the other side Bella pulled in with Lucy in the passenger seat. They were polar opposites, but would take a bullet for each other. Sadie pulled in on the other side of Kayleigh with Jennifer. Good, we were all on time. We all got out and joked about how we aren’t even going to fit in the dresses and blah blah blah. We walked in and split up the store shopping for each other. I spotted a gorgeous green one across the parlor where Bella was I called for her to make sure to pick it up for me. We grabbed dresses until our arms were full. We went to the dressing rooms and divvied up the goods. They did pretty well for me. Like they didn’t know my style. I tried on the first and stepped into the bank.
“Hurry up guys!” I called. I was the first one out. Sadie was out next, in the room next to mine. She gave me a seductive look and posed in a tight gold dress with a really low cut top. I laughed at her.
“Definitely not!” she said. “But I do look damn good!” She suddenly saw what I was wearing. “Not as damn good as you though!” I was in a long green dress which had a halter top. The others came out soon after and their jaws dropped.
“Wow, Cara. That looks amazing.” Lucy said frolicking over and grabbing my right hand over my head, forcing me to twirl in circles.
“Well, Cara found hers!” Bella said. “Oh me? I’ll be here all day; you guys might as well leave now.”
“Whatever, Bella. You look good in anything.” Kayleigh said shaking her head.
“The big challenge is going to be finding shoes!” Jennifer said making us all groan.
We all went back into the dressing rooms and came back out giving each other feedback. None of the other dresses I tried on compared to the first. Bella finally decided on a short, tight, black dress with cut outs on the sides. Sadie was in a cocktail red dress. Lucy was in a baby blue poofy dress with jewels on the top. Kayleigh was in a purple long silk dress with sequins on the top. We were all extremely giddy leaving the shop and decided to drop our dresses in the car and walk down to the café around the corner. We got drinks and sat outside under an umbrella.
“I’m SOOOOO excited for Saturday!” sang Lucy.
“Are the guys going tux shopping together? “asked Kayleigh. “Seth hasn’t told me anything.” She laughed nervously.
“Liam hasn’t told me anything either.” said Sadie encouragingly. “And I live with him” she added smiling genuinely. I felt bad for Kayleigh she’s going out with the guy of her dreams, but he barely talked to her before this and isn’t really talking to her now. I would never say anything to Kayleigh though. She would be so hurt.
“I can’t wait to bust a move” said Jennifer trying to break the tension.
“Oh Lord.” Bella said, smiling.
“OM Gosh you guys, Zayn did the sweetest thing!” Sadie started excitedly. Sadie was so cute and happy since she started dating Zayn. It made me really happy for her. “Zayn is a terrible dancer. He’s got rhythm, but can NOT dance. So he asked Liam to give him dance lessons. That’s what they’re doing right now. Zayn wanted to make sure I was busy before he committed to a time.” Everyone busted out laughing.
“Guess all those sibling dance classes you and Liam took were worth it” said Kayleigh laughing.
“Sibling classes?” Bella sputtered spraying her smoothie all over me. This made us laugh even harder.
“Ewwww!” I said jumping back. I grabbed some napkins and sopped up the smoothie as best as I could through laughs. We laughed ‘til we cried and laughed some more. My stomach muscles were sore. And I realized I hadn’t thought about Alex since I got with my girls.
