Liam’s POV

After dinner I pulled Zayn into our room. “I think I’m going to tell her now” I said shakily

“Good for you man!” he said patting my shoulder. “What’re you going to say?” he asked.

“Well that’s the trouble isn’t it?” I said “I’m just going to have to feel out the situation.” I let out a huge breath. The butterflies erupted and I almost gagged. Jeez.

“Well, she’s cleaning the kitchen right now, I’m sure she wants to be saved. Take her outside or something.” Zayn said grabbing my head.

“You’re hurting me” I said through squished cheeks. Why was he always touching my face?

“You can do this man, don’t chicken out.” He pushed me out the door. Oh man. What was I going to say? What if she rejected me? I was in the kitchen casually standing against the counter, next to her. She was drying dishes while Louis washed and Sadie put them away.

“Hey babe” she said looking at me “What’s up?”

“Well, I was wondering if I could tell you something.” What? Why did I say that so awkward?

“Uhh, sure just gimme a sec this is the last one.” She dried the last dish and handed it to Sadie to put away.

She wiped her hands on her shorts and followed me outside. We walked over to a little bench swing. This was a perfect place.

“What’s going on?” she asked pulling her knees up. I pushed us off and we were swinging.

“Well, I’m your best friend right?” I asked, trying to sound confident.

“Well I hope so, considering you’re mine” she said giggling.

“So this is going to sound kinda weird but-“

The sliding door opened and Harry poked his head out. “We’re going to play a game now!” and slammed the door. This was a good way out without Zayn pulling my head off.

“Uhh I’ll finish later,” I said standing up.

“You sure?” she asked.

She looked cute tonight, it was distracting. “Yeah, yeah, it’s not a big deal.”

“Okay!” she said spritely and we walked back up to the house.

“Well there you are!” Louis called from the dining room table. They were all sitting down around the table. “We’ve only been here for ages!” he added.

“We’ve just sat down, Louis!” Lucy replied. We sat down and Louis dealt some cards. I wasn’t sure what we were playing; I was just going through the motions. I would have to do it at some point; I’ve just dragged it out. I suddenly caught Zayn’s eye from across the table. He tilted his head and raised his eyebrows. I shook my head. He slumped in his chair and rolled his eyes. One good thing was, I wasn’t rejected tonight. Definitely an upside there! Who was I kidding… The longer this dragged, the worse I would feel about myself…
