Harry POV
“Damn I left my sunglasses at the house!” I said annoyed. I knew I was forgetting something, even though Lucy had reminded us all a hundred times, not to forget anything. “Who wants to come with me?”
“I will” Louis offered. Perfect I would have sometime alone with him to ask him about what the deal was with him and Kayleigh. “Hey Kayleigh, come with us!” Well so much for that idea. She ran out of the lake, to catch up with us and took Louis’s hand. Charming. We reached the house in seconds. I went to go find my sunglasses and Kayleigh pulled Louis’ arm to the kitchen. She propped herself on a bar stool and pulled him closer to her. He put his hands on her bare legs and kissed her on the lips. I was really jealous, to be honest. Not jealous of either one of them in particular, but them together. I wasn’t used to not having a girlfriend for such a long period of time. I had three girlfriends last year alone. I broke up with Rachel because I thought I would date Cara, (also because Rachel was unbelievably high maintenance) but then Alex came along and Cara never noticed me. Since then the most action I’ve gotten is when my cat licks my toes. I wanted Cara so bad.
“Hey, mate you find them?” Louis asked, interrupting my thoughts as he popped his head into the bedroom. I looked around him to see Kayleigh was still sitting on the bar stool but reading a magazine.
“Yeah, um, hey just curious, how did that whole you and Kayleigh thing come about anyhow?” I asked, still confused
“Oh well you know how she has been acting really different lately? Like kind of almost dangerous or like wild or something?”
“Yeah I guess I have noticed.” I thought about it and it made sense.
“Well she’d always been so innocent or something, but she’s like different now, it’s really hot!”
“Makes sense.” I said “But how did you get her to go out with you?”
“Oh that was easy. I turned on the charm!”
“Oh that’s wicked!” I said.
“Not really. I mean I told her about it this morning and she thought it was funny. Plus the conversation we had last night on the couch was really eye opening. Did you know she had a belly button ring with a dolphin on it?!” he asked me.
“Uh yeah I did actually, she bought it when we went to the mall a few weeks before school ended, remember?”
“Hey what’s taking so long in here?” Kayleigh appeared in the door way with a hand on her hip, smiling to us. “There’s only so much I can read about Katy Perry’s divorce before I get depressed.”
“Yeah sorry babe, just helping Harry find his glasses! Find them?” he asked
“Yep, let’s go back”
Louis gave me a piggy back ride back to the lakeshore and Kayleigh held my sunglasses for me. She could be his girlfriend as much as she wanted but I would always be his boyfriend. We all knew that.
“There you are!” Cara called joining us. She looked so good in that swimsuit. “Wanna go swimming?” she asked us. We all agreed and walked to the edge of the dock. We stood there looking out at the water. Louis held Kayleigh’s hand and Kayleigh held Cara’s. I held Louis’ hand and we all looked at each other, smiling, before counting.
“1…2…”
“3!” Zayn and Lucy yelled from behind us, pushing us all into the chilly lake.
