Bella POV
“Yes mom, we’re eating healthy.” Liam rolled his eyes as he talked on the phone with his mom. It was about 7pm and we had just all finished getting showered and dried off from the lakeshore. “Look mom, I kinda gotta go, do you want to talk to Sadie or something?....uh, okay, here she is” he handed the phone to Kayleigh. “She wants to talk to you.” He said
”Me?” she asked, a little confused. “Hello? Karen? Yeah hi it’s Kayleigh.” She talked for a minute about how much fun we were all having before-“Karen Payne! I am shocked at you! Well not really actually. But no. me and Liam are not married yet.” She rolled her eyes and smiled at Louis and Liam.” She walked over and sat on Louis’ lap. “In fact, I am kind of dating Louis now.” She gave Louis a quick peck on the lips and wrapped her arm around his muscular neck. “Thanks Karen. I’ll tell him.” She looked at Louis and said “Karen says don’t get too attached” Louis smiled and said-
“Mrs. Payne, I can assure you it’s becoming too late.” Kayleigh got a mushy look in her eye and said (very fast):
“K, Kare, well I’m going to hand you off to Sadie now, K?” she quickly handed the phone to Sadie, who was standing behind the couch, waiting for her turn, and put her hand on Louis’ face kissing him gently. “That was very romantic of you Mr. T” ugh. She had a nickname for him? Just as I started to think that I was getting over all the crazy and shitty part of my life, it just gets shittier. Hadn’t I made it clear enough that I liked Louis? Hadn’t we had a ‘moment’ on the hammock just two days ago? Oh who am I kidding? I could never really date him. Every time I got around him, I got annoyed with him. Can you imagine if we were actually in a relationship?
“Well now that everyone is coupled up, don’t you think it’s about time for you four to make something happen?” Lucy said with a smile to me, Cara, Liam and Harry. Leave it to her to make a situation totally uncomfortable.
“Really Luce…really?” I asked giving her an annoyed look.
“Yeah, no offense, but you have no clue what you’re talking about.” Harry said, looking at Cara who was looking at the TV, pretending not to be paying attention. Liam got up, before looking once again at Louis and Kayleigh (he never took his eyes off her, I noticed) and headed to where Zayn was taking a nap in their room.
“K. damn. Didn’t mean it like that… sorry.” Lucy shrugged off. I gave a look to Harry and he nodded his head in her direction. I nodded back and got up to follow her.
“Lucy wait.” I said following her to our room. I sat on our bed and looked at her. She was frowning. “I’m sorry; it’s just awkward you know. I’m so psyched about you and Niall. Seriously.” I gave her a genuine smile and she lit up at the sound of his name. This made me smile bigger. “But you know how it is with Cara and Harry. Something is happening there and me and Liam? Seriously? I couldn’t think of a weirder match, unless you said Kayleigh and Louis-“I stopped abruptly, putting my hand over my mouth.
“Bella!” Lucy squealed quietly. “But I know what you mean. It’s like, they’re so different, you know!? Like, what do they have in common?”
“We can grill her with questions tonight.” I said, smiling.
Before we knew it, it was 1am and we were all beat from our day at the shore. We all got ready for bed and the couples kissed each other goodnight, before heading to our rooms. We asked Sadie to sleep in our room tonight, so she could hear about it too. Sadie and Lucy were already in bed when I climbed in next to them. Cara and Kayleigh were still in the bathroom.
“Okay, so I’m gonna ask her why she’s dating Louis.” Lucy said, looking at the bathroom door. We saw the light go off under the door and it opened.
“No, Kayls, tomatoes are a fruit, I swear. They have seeds.” Cara said, taking off her pyjama pants. She always slept with no pants on. We had all gotten so used to it, however, that it really wasn’t weird anymore.
“But th- oh hey Sadie!” Kayleigh said looking at Lucy Sadie and I crammed into one bed.
“Hey! Niall’s farts were getting to me, so I thought I’d join you ladies for a night.” She said smiling
“Ew and of course!” Cara said climbing into bed
“You’re welcome anytime, my love” Kayleigh said, turning out the overhead light and joining Cara.
It was silent for a minute and then-
“Lucy?”
“Yeah Sadie?”
“Tell us about Niall asking you out!”
“OMG okay well he asked me while we were in the lake and he said he really liked me and I felt his muscles and” (this was all coming out in a huge, mumbled mess, she was so excited, it was adorable) “and he said I was really fun and that he wanted to be able to call me his girlfriend!”
We all giggled about how cute it was and it fell silent again.
“Hey Kay?” Lucy said
“Hey, what’s up?” Kayleigh responded through the darkness
“Um I was kind of wondering if you could tell us about like, how you and Louis got together and stuff.” I gave her a very light high five in through the darkness.
“Um…well, I’m not really sure. I was kind of drunk, but not super loaded like some of us were last night” we all laughed, remembering how sloppy we got. “ahah, and um he did a body shot off me, like you know and I don’t know, he just got me alone and started talking about my belly button ring
“That ugly dolphin one?” Sadie asked
“Hey! Louis likes it!” she tried to redeem herself, but it really was kind of ugly, cheesy. “Anyway, we got to kissing and then, I guess started talking and he asked me if we could be boyfriend, girlfriend. Plus, I guess, like, I think he’s really hot and he’s super funny and-“
“And a good kisser” Cara interrupted “She said he’s an insanely good kisser.”
“Cara Lillian Phillips!” Kayleigh said and we heard a smack.
“Ow! My butt!” Cara exclaimed loudly. We all laughed and since we were so incredibly tired, it just kept coming. We laughed ourselves to sleep that night.
