Niall POV
Lucy’s birthday was in five days. I was so excited! Sadie and I have been planning a surprise party for her for weeks, well mostly Sadie. I wanted to pay for the whole party. It is going to be at my house and Sadie and I are telling her we are going on a double date. This way, she has a reason to come to my house and be dressed up. Sadie and Zayn will pick her up then head over to my house where pretty much the whole class will be. Everyone knows Lucy, she’s class president for goodness sake, and if they didn’t who wouldn’t want to go to a party on The Hill?
“Nye, you okay?” Lucy snapped me out of my day dream. We were sitting in Kayleigh’s basement talking about plans for tomorrow. Cadence has started hanging out with us a lot lately. He was sitting on one side of Sadie while Zayn was on the other an arm around her waist. I put my arm around Lucy’s shoulder and she pulled her feet up on the couch and snuggled into my side. It was midnight when Kayleigh’s mom came downstairs.
“Alright, lovelies ” she started. “It’s late, I’m going to bed so whoever’s staying, awesome, just keep it down, if you aren’t time to head out.” She said goodnight and went back upstairs. We decided we would all stay over tomorrow.
My parents had dropped off my mustang earlier, so that left Zayn and I with cars. I took Lucy, Louis, and Cara and Zayn took Harry and Bella based on where everyone lived. We jammed hard to Nicki Minaj as I dropped everyone off. When it was just me and Lucy in the car, I grabbed her hand and laced my fingers in hers. She looked at me and grinned and I winked back. We pulled into her drive way and I turned off the car.
We got out and I held her hand up to the front door. “Thanks for the ride, stud.” She said mockingly. I chuckled and grabbed her hands. I played with her fingers and she took a step closer. My hands stopped and started to get slippery. She rested her chin on my chest looking up at me. She wanted me to make the first move. I wasn’t going to do it, I had it all planned out, our first kiss would be after a romantic dinner OR in the rain. If it was raining right now, I would. She looked beautiful as usual and her hair was moving slightly in the summer breeze. I pulled my hands free and brushed her hair out of her face. I wrapped my arms around her neck and hugged her close.
“See you later, Luce!” I said holding onto her finger and walking away. She frowned, but recovered quickly. She took a deep breath,
“See ya, Nye” she turned and slumped into the house. I got in the car and headed home. I blasted Maroon 5 and decided I needed to talk to a boy. I called Harry.
“Hello?”
“Hey, it’s Niall, you home yet?”
“Oh hey, ya just got here.”
“Mind if I come over?”
“No, course not! See you in a few”
I pulled into his driveway and he was sitting on the doorstep. He stood “What’s up man?” he asked, head tilted.
“I just needed to talk to someone besides Sadie. She hears all my crap all the time.”
“Sure man, come on in.” We headed in his house, it smelled like peaches, and walked up to his room. He sat on the bed and I sat in the desk chair. We talked for a long time about my problems, then his. Apparently, he and Cara almost kissed when we were playing hide-and-seek. I told him that I had the opposite problem, every time Lucy wanted to kiss me, it didn’t feel right to me. Harry was actually a really good listener, I’m glad I chose him. We ended up falling asleep on his bed.
