Sadie POV
I dropped everyone off at their houses and soon it was just me and Kayleigh in the car. “You wanna sleepover?” Kayleigh asked.
“Yeah! I haven’t been to your house in so long!” I was actually really excited to go to her house one, her older brother was really chill and I haven’t seen him in forever. Two, her little sisters were the coolest kids on the planet. Three, her mom was my second mom and loved me more than her own kids. “Can we drop by my place to pick stuff up first?”
“Well duh!” We pulled into the driveway and I ran upstairs to get my stuff together. She chatted with Liam and my mom in the kitchen while I was gone. I grabbed my charger, pajamas, and a sweatshirt so we could sneak out later. When we got to her house Katrina and Carissa ran to me and hugged my waist.
“AHHH!” I yelled excitedly and hugged them back. “I’m at your house!” I yelled at them. They laughed at me and Kayleigh and I headed upstairs. We passed Cadence, her older brother’s room and I slipped in. He was sitting at his desk on the computer. I smacked him on the back of the head and he jumped and yelped. Cadence was going into university next year, but was taking a year off of school to work in their uncle’s auto shop to help pay for school, considering there was three other kids to get through school.
He turned quickly, “Sadie!” He jumped up and gave me a big hug. He was quite muscly and tall, he looked nothing like Kayleigh.
“Cadence! How’s it goin?”
“Good! I only ever see Liam around here!” He said grinning hugely. He ran his hand through his blond hair. “You staying the night?”
“Yea, we’re takin off around 1:30ish, you comin?”
“Yea, where we goin?”
“Niall’s house”
“Cool” I waved and went into Kayleigh’s room.
“I wondered where you went,” Kayleigh started- “then I heard a scream” I laughed and flopped down on the bed next to her, it was almost midnight. We looked at pictures of cute boys on tumblr and read magazines until 1:20. We got up and touched up our make-up. We snuck into the hallway and tapped on Cadence’s door. He appeared in the doorway and we crept down the stairs and out the front door. We climbed into Cadence’s truck and slowly pulled out of the driveway, lights off. Once, we were down the street he picked up speed and turned on the headlights, his car smelled really good. Not like cologne, but clean. We headed up Niall’s driveway and he was in the garage.
“Hey man!” Niall said giving Cadence a hug. “Long time, mate” Niall and Cadence used to be really close but they drifted when Cadence got into high school. We talked in the garage for a long time, catching up
“So, how’s Zayn doing?” Cadence asked teasingly. He didn’t know we were dating but remembered I was in love with him.
“Actually we’re dating.” I said, I felt embarrassed telling him this. I squirmed uncomfortably on the stool I was sitting on.
“Oh, congratulations!” You could feel the awkward. I nodded.
“And Niall’s dating Lucy!” Kayleigh said cheerily, shifting the attention. Niall smiled.
“Oh yeah! I remember her. Little bubbly thing, right?” Cadence asked.
“Yeah that’ll be her.” Niall said laughing.
It was almost three and we decided we should head home. It was a really quiet drive home, we were all exhausted. When we got back to the house we snuck back upstairs and just as Cadence walked into his room he turned and said “Goodnight Sadie, glad you finally got Zayn.” I smiled and fell asleep as soon as I lay down.
