Sadie POV
I woke up the next morning to Zayn kneeled next to the bed. I opened my eyes and yelped. Lucy stirred next to me. I sat up and saw Lucy, Cara and I were the only ones still in bed. I swung my legs over the side and followed him out of the room. “Shit!” I said smacking him on the arm! “You scared the hell outta me!” He smirked and kissed me on the forehead.
“Good morning to you too!” He said cheerily. “I went to get you from your room and I got worried when you weren’t there so I came to find you!”
“Where would you be without me?” I asked as we stepped into the kitchen.
“I was asking myself the same thing!” Harry said sipping his tea and looking up from the paper. He was such an old man sometimes. It made me laugh. We ate our breakfast quickly and I jumped in the shower. By the time I got back to my room Niall had just woke up and was headed out.
“Hey Nye, the boyfriend guy!” I said smirking at him. He laughed.
“I was gonna talk to you about it last night, but you were gone!” That actually made me sad. He wanted to tell me about his new girlfriend and I wasn’t there.
“Aww!” I said walking over to hug him. “We both have boyfriends-slash-girlfriends that we’re carazay for!” I grabbed his hands and we did a victory dance. I smacked his butt on his way out the door.
When I got back out to the living room, Kayleigh and Lucy were awake. Kayleigh was on Louis’ lap, as usual. Oh the honeymoon stage. HA! Like me and Zayn are out of it. He walked up to me and kissed me hard, his fingers in my hair, proving my point.
“Guys, we only have two more days…” Bella said depressingly from the kitchen.
“What the hell, yo!” I shouted. “Bring down the house why don’t ya!”
“Crazy bastard” Zayn said quietly.
“What was that Zayn?” she asked coming around the corner.
Zayn went to take a shower and I looked outside to see Liam, sitting alone, on the bench swing. He looked like he was in a Nicholas Sparks book. I went out to join him. I sat down and he hadn’t even looked up to notice me.
“What’s up?” I asked cheerily. He shook his head and put his face in his hands. I put my hand on his back. “Come on Lee, what happened.” We sat in silence for a minute.
“She doesn’t know…” he said sitting up. “She doesn’t know, and he doesn’t know, and I can’t do anything about it now…” he said looking out on the lake.
“Who doesn’t know what?” I asked
“Kayleigh… Kayleigh has no idea how I feel…” Wait. Was he saying he has feelings for her? “But now all I can do is sit in my own self-pity and watch… just watch him with her.” There was so much hurt in the way he said “him”
“Oh, Liam…” I didn’t know what else to say. I put my head on his shoulder and rested my hand on his knee. There was nothing I could do to help him… The door slid open.
“What’s up, guys?” I looked up to see Kayleigh crossing the lawn, concern on her face… I picked my head up quickly and Liam smiled. He was good at faking this…
“I’m just a little homesick.” I said, trying to save Liam from coming up with some stupid excuse. He’s always been a terrible liar. Ever since we were kids. “My period isn’t helping” I lied further, trying to keep her from digging deeper into the situation. She nodded and gave me a look of sympathy. I stood and went back inside, Kayleigh and Liam following. When I got back inside I ran into Zayn who pulled me into his room.
“Did Liam just tell you?” he asked searching my eyes.
“About Kayleigh? Yeah…”
“I’m worried,” he said, head down. He did look genuinely worried about my brother.
“Me too, I just don’t know what to do to help… We just might have to wait it out.”
“Yeah, I guess, Things are just going to get more and more awkward, especially with Louis and Liam sharing the same room…”He was right, we had to help Liam keep calm. He was never a violent person but if he was quiet and moping, people would notice. Most importantly, Kayleigh, would notice.
