Cara POV
“Why don’t you love me, touch me, tell me I’m your everything, the air you breathe” Hot Chelle Rae and Demi Lovato were blaring through the speakers as Harry’s hands slid slowly up and down my back. Not in a creepy way though, I found it sweet and comforting. I hadn’t felt this appreciated in a long time. I looked into his big beautiful eyes and smiled. He smiled down at me.
“You look unbelievable tonight.” He whispered to me through a crooked smile.
“So do you.” I said, giving him a cheeky grin. I saw him start to lean in for a kiss. I really wanted to. Like, I really, really wanted to.
“Harry.” I said quietly “I can’t yet. I’m sorry, I’m just not ready for another relationship so soon.” He gave me an understanding look and ran his hand down my back as he put his lips on my ear and said:
“Well, when you’re ready, I’m here,” I felt my heart race and I forgot how to breathe for a second. Instead of looking back at him I just hugged him and whispered:
“And when I’m ready, you’ll be the first to know.” I felt his arms tighten around me as we swayed to the music. I looked over at our table and saw Kayleigh poking the candle at our table with a fork. I looked around quickly to see if I could find Seth. I saw him with a group of girls as they were all laughing at something he had said as he made obnoxious, flailing movements with his arms. I frowned and pulled away from Harry.
“I’ll be right back, I’m sorry” I smiled faintly at him. I nodded toward Kayleigh and he smiled as though he understood.
“I’ll go get us drinks then.” He replied and touched my arm softly. I walked in the direction of our table and saw Kayleigh look up at me.
“Hey honey “I said to her. She smiled at me and said:
“Hi”
“So you wanna dance with Harry or something?” I offered.
“No thanks, babe, that’s ok.” she looked down. There was a moment of silence.
“Let’s take a walk, yeah?” I smiled at her and stood up, taking her hand in mine and leading her towards the walkway. I looked over my shoulder to see Harry by the drinks table I smiled at him and he winked at me. I am so glad he understands. We got started down the path talking and gossiping about how weird it was that Bella and Louis were getting along so well and how cute Sadie and Zayn were. They had just started going out and were all puppy love. They couldn’t keep their hands off each other, it was sweet. We talked about how drunk Seth was getting and she started sniffling.
“I just don’t know why he asked me if he was just going to ignore me the whole night!” she said, fighting to hold back tears. It hurt me so much, seeing her like this.
“Baby.” I said putting my arm around her neck and resting my head on top of hers, even in heels she was so much shorter than me. “Boys are all stupid. Honestly if it weren’t for so damn hot they were, I would be a lesbian.” This made her crack up.
“Thanks for that.” She said laughing. We continued walking until we heard some weird noises.
“Oh baby.” Kayleigh said giggling. “Someone’s having fun tonight.” We were about to turn around because of how awkward it was, but, then I noticed the distinct color of the dress that was on the girl. I looked around the tree slowly.
“Cara, what the hell?” Kayleigh said, trying to stop me and grabbed my arm, chuckling.
“One sec” I said peering again around the tree. “Oh my fucking God”.
