Sadie POV
I kept rolling around on the floor, I couldn’t sleep. I got up and walked to the bathroom in the hall. I didn’t have to pee, but I went anyways. When I walked back into the hallway, I saw Cadence’s light was still on. I knocked softly and he said come in.
“Oh hey Sade, what’s up?” he was sitting in his bed, on his laptop.
“Couldn’t sleep.” I said climbing up to sit next to him and pulling my knees up to my chin.
“So you came in here?” he asked, mischievously.
“Shut up Cadence” I said punching him on the arm and almost blushing. He was on Facebook, looking at some girls pictures. “Who’re you creeping on?” I asked teasingly
“Some girl named Lauren, she’s a mess.” We were going through some pictures of a blonde girl with pounds of make-up on. In almost every picture her cleavage was out and she had a beer in her hand, real classy. “Doesn’t anyone have standards anymore?” he asked logging out
I giggled. “Look at me, kid.” I said raising my eyebrows. He laughed lightly
“I’m older than you, babe.” He said flashing me a grin. I rolled my eyes.
“Why is it so cold in here?” I asked getting chills.
“I keep the window open at night.” He said matter-of-factly. “I’m thirsty, I’m gonna get a drink. You want anything?” he asked walking towards the door.
“Nah, but I’ll come with you.” We crept down the stairs and I couldn’t help but giggle at how quiet we were trying to be. We got to the kitchen and he got water quickly and we heard a thump above our heads. My heart started going a thousand miles a minute and we ran as fast as we could back upstairs. He was laughing when we got back into his room. “What?” I asked trying not to show how out of breath I was from running up the stairs, I really needed to work out more.
“It’s not like we would be in trouble” he said slumping on the edge of the bed. “We went downstairs to get water” he said chuckling. I smiled sat down next to him. I felt a sneeze coming on as he sipped his water, it came sooner than I expected and I sneezed right on his arm. Attractive. He spit water all over himself and the carpet. I fell into a fit of laughter. He wiped his arm on my shirt and started laughing too. I lay back, holding my stomach and I rolled off the bed with a thud. This made us laugh even harder. We heard footsteps on the stairs and immediately stopped. I jumped up on the bed next to him and grabbed his arm. The door opened quietly. Zayn. His eyebrows rose. Oh shit, this looked suspicious. Cadence thought so too because he wriggled out of my grasp and stood up. I didn’t know what to say to break the silence, it’s not like we were doing anything.
“Hey babe! What’re you doing up?” I asked cheerily.
“I heard a thump and came to check on you. I heard your laugh coming from in here so I came to see what was goin on. But, you seem to be okay so,” he turned to leave.
“Wait!” I said “Goodnight Cadence” I said walking over to Zayn. We stepped into the hallway and he shut the door.
“So what’s going on up here?” Zayn asked, eyebrows furrowed
“Nothing, I couldn’t sleep and I saw his light was on so-“
“So you decided to go to Cadence? The ex-boyfriend?”
“It’s not like that Zayn! Ex-boyfriend? Who? Wha-“
“Liam told me you guys pretty much dated. You’ve been on and off sort of dating forever.”
“Zayn, we’re just friends.” He was really starting to annoy me; I just wanted to go to bed now. “Zayn, just trust me okay?” I tried to make my voice sound sweet and innocent to calm him down. “I’m with you.” I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him down to my lips. He kissed me silly, like he was proving something. We said goodnight and I crawled under the covers next to Lucy. I fell asleep right away.
