Cara POV
“Alright ladies, wake your asses up.” I stood on my bed, barking to Kayleigh and Summer to wake up. They slowly started moving. To be honest, I was usually always the last one to wake up. Like always. But, today we left for the lake house and I was always ready for that. I leapt over to Summer’s bed and jumped around until she sat up.
“OKAY CARA…damn.” She muttered. Summer and Josh weren’t coming with us to the Lake House, although they were invited, they had already planned a vacation for this week. They were going to Summer’s home town so Josh could meet her family and she could see some old friends. I smiled at the thought of hoe cute that was and kissed her on the cheek as she sauntered into the bathroom.
“Now for you.” I rubbed my hands together maniacally, staring at Kayleigh’s bed. I began to prance over before-
“DON’T” she put a hand up to stop me. I ignored her and jumped on top of her, lying over her body. She screamed and pulled her covers up over her face.
“You have to wake up; we’re leaving for Niall’s in 30 minutes!” I exclaimed. She rolled me off of her and started getting all of her things together. Within the next half hour we were all packed and ready to go.
“Liam’s here!” Kayleigh read a text from her phone.
“Bye, Sum” I hugged her. The hug lasted a bit longer than usual. Since school started, we really haven’t spent much more than a few days apart. “Come here” I pulled Kayleigh into the hug.
“Love you girlies” Kayleigh scrunched her nose at us, smiling.
“Okay, you guys have gotta go! Love you both and see you in a week! HAVE FUN!” we heard Summer yell down the hall as she waited for Josh to pick her up.
“Ready to go!?” Liam asked as he helped us with our bags. Kayleigh squealed. And hugged him. We drove over to the house and everyone was already packing their things into Niall’s big Navigator.
“UGHHHH” Bella groaned. “Why do we do this every time? Are we incapable of taking more than one car?”
“C’mon, babe” Sadie threw an arm over her shoulder. “You know it’s fun to squish in there, all together like little sardines.”
“I hate fish.” She muttered. I laughed and we all jammed into the car, yet again. Niall drove and Liam sat up front with him. Harry’s long legs had to sit in the middle of the second row, with Sadie, Zayn and I around him. That left Bella, Kayleigh, Lucy and Louis in the very back. We began the excruciatingly long, packed drive to the lake house.
“Let’s play a game.” Kayleigh suggested over the music. “Let’s play Remember When!” everyone agreed. It was a stupid game we’d made up a while ago to remember all the stupid shit we did in high school. It wasn’t really a game, but we liked it.
“Okay, remember before Cara and Harry started dating and Harry was supposed to go to prom with Kayleigh and she ditched him for Seth Broden?” Zayn laughed.
“OOoohhhh, ouch. Harsh” we all booed her, laughing.
“Okay, okay well remember when Kayleigh got that hideous dolphin belly button ring?” Louis giggled.
“Hey! I liked that ring! And correct me if I’m wrong, but YOU-” she pointed directly at Louis “-loved it too”
“She’s right” Harry laughed. “I remember the day after you two hooked up at the lake house and Louis was like, ‘aw yeah mate Kayleigh’s really changed, she got this belly button ring, it’s sick bro’” Harry mocked Louis’ voice.
“Whatever mate” Louis blushed.
“Okay I got one, remember when we went to Ireland and had that mattress sliding party? That was sweet.” Lucy smiled.
“Ahh that was the best, but do you also remember Harry traipsing around the castle naked, chasing Cara while all of our eyes were violated?” Niall laughed.
“Ugh ew! That was the worst.” Sadie fake gagged. “The best was when we went to the zoo that one time and Cara had to hold that snake and nearly fainted!” They all laughed at my expense and I just laughed along.
“Yeah, yeah, we’re really weird guys, but, you have to admit we’re all perfect for each other.” I smiled. Everyone shared an agreeing laugh.
