Niall’s POV
“HEYOOOO” Louis and Harry ran up to me as me and Lucy walked back down the stairs. “We saw the whole thing” Louis blurted out. Harry was cheering.
Louis was beaming and I was blushing. Lucy laughed it off and pulled me away to the punch bowl. “This is pretty much straight vodka,” Lucy said twisting her face up.
I smiled and Cara popped up out of nowhere. “Sooooo” she was so obvious.
“So, I kissed her” I said pulling Lucy closer to me. Cara squealed and ran off. No doubt to find Kayleigh. I pulled Lucy back outside and we sat on the mini-bar swinging our legs. Sadie gave me a thumbs-up from the DJ booth and I winked at her. She smiled knowingly. She was at the DJ booth all night. I’m sure it wasn’t her choice, if it was up to Sadie, she would be running around the yard and dancing with anything that had feet. She was just one of those people who had fun when everyone else was having fun. Therefore, an attention hog and the life of every party, except this one.
“So was the fireworks you too?” Lucy pulled me out of my trance.
“Huh? Oh, yeah. It was” I felt like blushing. She gave me a long kiss on the mouth.
“Thank you, babe.”
“This one’s for the birthday girl, and her man.” Sadie’s voice said mischievously. David, a boy in my math class walked up on stage with a guitar and Sadie and Zayn had microphones in their hands. What was going on? David started to play a familiar tune. It was ‘Two is Better Than One’ by Boys Like Girls and Taylor Swift. Lucy grinned at her favorite song.
I jumped down from the bar and grabbed Lucy’s to help her down. She dropped gracefully and I pulled her to the middle of the crowd. Zayn started singing and the crowd was in shock. “I didn’t know Zayn could sing!” Lucy said sounding impressed.
I slid my hands around her waist and pulled her close, resting my hands on the small of her back. She placed her hands on my neck and we swayed to the music.
“I know you’re embarrassed and you’ll put the blame on someone else but, thank you so much for the party. It’s honestly the most amazing thing anyone’s ever done for me.” She looked up and gave me a shy smile.
“I would do anything for you, Lucy.” I said without thinking. I hope I don’t scare her off. She blushed and rested her head on my chest. Yes! I said the right thing. I smiled to myself and let Sadie and Zayn serenade us into the night. The song was over way too soon and we applauded David, Sadie, and Zayn.
“We have to go thank them!” Lucy yelled over the cheering. She pulled me towards the platform and we stepped into the DJ booth. “Thank you SOOOO SOOOO SOOOO much!” Lucy squealed hugging them.
“Thanks you guys.” I said. They said you’re welcome and Zayn went back to his music. Sadie rolled her eyes and turned back towards us.
“Are you having a good night Luce? Honestly?” Sadie asked taking Lucy’s hands.
“Are you kidding?! How could I not? The hottest guy I know kissed me tonight-“ This made me blush and I felt like I was eavesdropping, but Lucy continued as if she didn’t say anything. “All these people are here for me, two of my best friends sang for me, fireworks went off just for me. Honestly, I feel a little spoiled!” Uh-oh. Was this too much? I did too much. Shit. “I’m having the best night of my life!” She added turning to me. He gave me a reassuring hand squeeze and I was okay again. Everything she did made me feel better. She made me better.
After the last few stragglers left, the house was a mess. We decided on cleaning it tomorrow, considering the sun was about to come up.
“Well,” I started “Since no one stayed where they were last time, sleep wherever you want, I don’t care.” Everyone laughed and looked around nervously.
We all ended up in the game room anyway. It had a futon, two couches, and a bunch of bean bag chairs and pillows. Louis and Liam crashed on the floor the minute we walked into the room. They slept in a tangle with the body pillows and bean bag chairs. Sadie and Zayn made their way to one of the couches and fell asleep quickly, Zayn spooning Sadie. I didn’t know where I was going to end up. I’d probably end up on the floor with Louis and Liam. Lucy grabbed my hand and pulled me over to the other couch. She lay down and patted the cushion in front of her for me to sleep on the front. “Are you sure you don’t want to sleep on the outside?” I asked.
“Nope. I want the inside.” She smiled at me and I lay down after giving her a kiss on the cheek. Kayleigh, Bella, and Cara flipped the futon down and my eyes drifted shut before anything else happened.
