Cara POV
“WOO!” Niall and Lucy yelled simultaneously as we pulled up and parked. Niall and Lucy jumped out right away and the rest of us unfolded and stretched as we climbed our way out. Harry held out his hand for me as I jumped out.
“Thank you very much.”
“You’re welcome very much.” He replied. I held onto the hand that I was already holding and wrapped it around my shoulders. He kissed my head and we walked to the sales booth. Harry graciously paid for me. As soon as we were all inside the zoo, we decided to make a game plan.
“Okay, so I think we should, first, go to-” Sadie began blabbering off a plan for the day and I saw Niall and Lucy fidgeting the whole time. I think I was the only one who noticed them look at each other, grin HUGELY and grasp hands, intertwining fingers. Lucy mouthed “Now” and they both turned and bolted as fast as they could deeper into the zoo, swerving through people and laughing and yelling as they ran.
“I knew it.” Zayn laughed watching them.
“Well I guess the plan is ‘do whatever the hell you want’” Sadie said, throwing her hands in the air and slapping them back down to her thighs.
“Well I really want to see the reptiles first!” Liam said, happily “I heard they have this really rare tortoise!”
“OH and I want to see the snakes!” Harry said, animatedly. It was so funny the way the boys got so excited. Kayleigh and I made eye contact and shook our heads, smiling.
“I want to get some air conditioning!” Zayn said.
“SAME!” Bella yelled and they high-fived.
“Alright then! Liam, Cara, Harry and Kayleigh, you guys go do reptiles and Bella, Louis, Zayn and I’ll go to the aquarium!”
“anddddd GO!” Kayleigh yelled as we skipped our separate ways.
We arrived at the reptile house.
“YES!” Kayleigh shouted. “We made it in time for Reptiles On Parade!”
“Awesome.” I crossed my arms. I wasn’t the biggest fan of this stuff. Kayleigh wasn’t really either, but Liam and Harry were pumped, so I felt like I should be too. She gave me one look that said it all.
“WOOO!” I fist pumped the air.
“Too much.” She muttered and wrapped her arm in mine, leading me to get good seats.
“Welcome everyone to REPTILES ON PARADE!” a short, chubby red haired man with a beard said over a microphone. He was wearing a ‘safari outfit’ that was riding up a bit and it showed as he leaned over to pick up the first HUGE snake out of the large wooden bin. I felt Kayleigh cringe next to me as he brought it closer. Liam took her hand in his and kissed her cheek.
“It’s just like a giant worm!” he said, trying to make her feel better. She gave him he most hilarious look I’ve ever seen and he shrugged.
“Who wants to hold this bad boy while I get out our next friend?” he asked. I reached over and took Harry’s hand, waving it up, knowing he really wanted to. “You there, young lady, come on down.”
“Shit.” I squirmed and shook my head. I felt my stomach begin to turn.
“Oh come on, he’s harmless!” The chubby safari man said.
“I’ll go with you.” Harry whispered through my hair. I looked over at him, still terrified, but something about the way he looked at me made all the stress melt away. I think I even smiled a little. Before I knew it, I was at the bottom of the stairs with Harry at my side.
“And what’s your name, lovely lady?” The man asked
“C-Cara” I stuttered
“Well, C-Cara, this is Salazar…Get it?” he winked; it only made my stomach turn more.
“Yeah, believe me, she gets it.” Harry laughed, making the audience giggle. He was so damn charming.
“And you’re her…”
“Boyfriend. I’m Harry” they shook hands “I’m here for moral support.” He smiled that perfect smile again.
“Well Moral Support Harry and C-Cara, go ahead and hold your arms out.” I looked over to Harry and he gave me a reassuring nod. I closed my eyes tightly and held out my arms.
“YEAH!! GO CARA!” I heard Kayleigh and Liam yell from the stands. It eased me, but not for long. As soon as I felt ‘Salazar’s’ skin on mine I jumped. As soon as I was about to drop my arms, I felt two hands on the bottom of my elbows, from behind, stabilizing me.
“It’s okay, baby” Harry’s lips were at my ear, I felt his torso pressed closely to my back. I whimpered and he giggled.
“Let’s give it up for CARA!” Safari pants yelled. Everyone cheered and clapped, but my eyes were still glued shut. The show went on and Liam got to see his big-ass turtle.
“Well thank you all SO very much for coming out today, see you next time!” without me realizing it at first, Mr. ginger beard took the ginormous reptile from my hands. Harry rubbed my arms. “Thanks guys!” he said and walked away, putting Salazar back in his crate. I let out a huge puff of air.
“I’m so proud of you baby!” Harry hugged me. I felt two more bodies knock into me. Group hug!
“Yay Cara!”
“I cannot believe you did that!”
“That’s my girl.”
“Can we get ice cream now.” Was all I could respond with. They laughed at me, but agreed.
