Kayleigh POV   *Morning of Lucy’s birthday party*

“K bye girls! Have fun!” my mom said, ushering Lucy and Bella out the door, so we could go to Niall’s to set up for her birthday as soon as possible. I was so happy when my mom said it would be okay for us to go out to Lucy’s party tonight. I was still majorly pissed off at her for grounding me (and Liam and Sadie) for sneaking out the other night, but I had to put on a mask and kiss up to her a lot. It was so annoying. The girls had slept over last night, because we were having ourselves a little party for Lucy, just the five of us. Bella and Lucy were going out for mani pedis and massages. Lucy and Niall, along with Sadie and Zayn were going on a double date tonight. Or at least that’s what Lucy thought. The real plan was that Sadie was going to Lucy’s to get ready for “dinner” aka- the party and Zayn would be by later to pick them both up and ‘pick up’ Niall aka- party it up! We all showered and got ready to go to Niall’s in wet hair and sweat pants. The only plan for the rest of us for the day was to set up and decorate Niall’s massive house in a “Night sky” theme. Everyone was supposed to dress up in gold, dark blue, or black like stars in the sky. I was of course the planner. I was social chair at school so I was used to planning back to school bashes and kick off carnivals and all kinds of school dances. I LOVED planning parties! The reason for the theme was because Lucy always talks about the stars. ALWAYS. She believes in horoscopes religiously and looks for constellations and everything. We joke that she’ll one day be an astronaut or something. Anyway… Last night Sadie surprised us with matching rings from Tiffany! She said that it was our birthday, Christmas and Valentine’s Day presents for the next year from her and we all gladly accepted. We decided to wear them tonight, because they perfectly match my theme! They are gold and silver.

“Do you girls have your dresses and shoes and stuff?” I made sure. You can never be too careful when it comes to party planning.

“Yes, mom” Cara rolled her eyes and carried the make-up case to the front door. I had to make sure everything was perfect!

“Okay, bye mommy! I love you and will see you tomorrow morning! Don’t forget we’re sleeping at Niall’s tonight.” I yelled from the bottom of the stairs to her home office upstairs.  Cara, Sadie and I left quickly before she had time to protest.

………….

“Finally!” Niall said opening the front door at the exact same time Sadie had put her hand on the handle. “We have no idea what we’re supposed to do with all of this.” Cara, Sadie and I stood on the porch, jaws dropped, looking into the most gorgeous spread of decorations and lights and pounds of glitter and sparkles we had ever seen.

“Niall. Oh my…” I felt like I wanted to cry. I was so excited and dumbfounded. Niall wanted so badly for this night to be perfect that he had hired some very expensive decorations and catering service. I had helped him with picking out the decorations online, but he had ordered so much and such elaborate things.

“I could kiss you.” I said as I walked in, dropping my dress and allowing myself to be mesmerized by a white tree, with no leaves, covered in lights.

“Well no offense but I’m saving that for Lucy tonight” he said looking down and blushing.

“Buddy!!!” Sadie said, drawing herself away from the vases of pure glitter. “You’re gonna do it tonight?! That’s so perfect” she said hugging him.

“Yeah, yeah I know, I’m just adorable. Now let’s get this house looking…um”

“Like the night sky” I said floating my arms above my head and letting them fall in a dramatic position. The boys laughed and I started spitting out directions. Niall dealt with the catering and alcohol situation. His father had apparently hired a bartender that was willing to look over the age limit for a price. There was champagne and white wine. I was planning to make this more of a classy event. I even made a guest list. Only the ‘responsible-ish’ and ‘classy-ish’ were allowed. I wanted this night to be perfect for Lucy and so did Niall, which made planning the ‘perfect’ party pretty easy.  Liam and I were going to stand outside the front doors all night and be bouncers/greeters/whatever. I was actually pretty excited. I even bought us headsets. They weren’t connected to anything, but it made us look so. Cool. Louis and Sadie had also volunteered for the job, so we would switch on and off through the party. Louis, Cara, and Harry were putting vases of glitter and big silver, gold, and dark blue balls around the house. Zayn, Liam and I were outside hanging lights on the trees. I was on Liam’s tall shoulders and Zayn was handing us all the lights and keeping them untangled. I decided to keep Zayn and Sadie apart, because something weird was going on between them, I could tell. I didn’t need their drama to ruin anything.

“Okay, I think that’s everything!” I squealed as I looked around. I held my clip board and checked off all of the things we had gotten done. At this point, Sadie had left to Lucy’s house to get ready together for the ‘dinner’ they were going to with Zayn and Niall tonight. And Bella had just walked in, taking Sadie’s place. “Niall, you have the…ya know…” I raised my eyebrows, hoping he would catch on.

“Oh! Yeah. All taken care of. Set for midnight.”

“Perfect.” I smiled. And it was. There were huge white trees in the large foyer of Niall’s home, making it look like an ‘enchanted forest’ or at least that’s what Louis thinks. There were huge vases of painted silver, gold and dark blue tiger lilies scattered around along with vases full of pure glitter. Diamonds (well, fake diamonds) were scattered on all of the tables and there were blue and gold light bulbs in all of the lights. We had hung white linen on the ceiling to dim the light and make the light spread more evenly, so it was more of a glow. It looked absolutely perfect.

“Okay so Zayn, it’s all you now. We all need to go get ready. Then Zayn, you go pick up Sadie and Luce and bring them back here, where, just Cara, Bella, Liam, Louis, Harry, Niall and I will be saying SURPRISE, woohoo, we love you, yadda yadda yadda. Then about ten minutes later, after we have time to give her our gifts and she has time to look around and all, the guests will be arriving. Zayn, you’re still DJ-ing right?”

He nodded “Yes ma’am!” he was so adorably excited to DJ, that I just couldn’t let Niall hire the band he wanted.

“Okay then, you can start that up as soon as people start getting here, where Liam, you and I will be waiting to check them off the list” I winked at him, because he was also excited for his role “the body guard”. “Then we just party, I guess !”

*EEEKKKK* Cara let out a shriek and jumped on Harry’s back. “Sorry, I’m just so excited!!!” we all agreed and went upstairs to get ready.
