3rd Person P.O.V
The sun was shinning over a bare Cordell, who laid sound asleep on his stomach, his arms tucked under his pillow in a bed that wasn't his. His wedding ring sat on the nightstand nearby, next to his watch and a black bra.

Cordell's eyes flutter open as he heard movement behind him and he quickly turn over to sit up on his elbows, knocking his pillow off the bed in the process. Geri stood on the other side of the bed, having just slip on a night shirt and turn around to face him.

"Hey." Cordell muttered, still half asleep. "Hey." Geri replied, smiling at him a bit anxious but also giddy. "Morning." Cordell muttered. "Morning." Geri echoed, rubbing her hands together.

"Didn't expect... last night to-to... end up like that." Cordell said as Geri took a seat on the bed, slipping back under the covers. "What do you mean, when you followed me inside?" She asked.

"I don't know, you could've been asking me to-to get a spider or something..." Cordell suggested. "A spider?" Geri repeated, in an amused tone. "Or change a lightbulb, I'm tall." Cordell threw out. "That's ridiculous." Geri told him.

"Well... uh, yeah." Cordell mumbled. "That's ridiculous." Geri repeated herself. "Yeah." Cordell muttered, looking down as he took her hand, unsure of how to proceed with such a drastic change in the relationship.

"Cordi, you know... that it's been there between us." Geri said. "Yeah. I just didn't know if... you thought it was a good idea." Cordell replied. "Well... I'm glad we're here." Geri admitted, smiling at him affectionately.

"And now that we are here." Cordell said, holding up their hands and places a kiss on the back of hers "Uh... what are we?" He asked, anxiously. "I'm not trying to put you on the spot. Or-or pressure you." He quickly added. "Okay, um..." Geri muttered.

"Just I-I need to know what to say to Augie and-and Stella." Cordell said. "Oh, no, no, no, hold on. We... mm-mm." Geri said, covering her face with her hands. "I don't, I don't want to force any kind of role on them. I'm not Em and I would never ever try to be ever..."

"I know. And I'm not Hoyt and I'm not trying to be Hoyt... I-I-I would lose my job..." Cordell stammered. "You would lose your job." Geri chuckles. "I know that, Ger, and the kids, they know that. I mean, they're more mature than I-I'd like to accept." Cordell said, smiling.

"Let me just... let's just give it a minute. You know what I mean, just... Things just changed. Right, so let's..." Geri stammered. "Right, right. Okay. Of course. How about this?" Cordell asked, holding up his index finger.

"Uh... Let's, um... let's make a pact. You and me, all right?" Cordell asked. "Okay." Geri said, intrigued. "We got to make a deal. If we start feeling like... this is going somewhere we're not comfortable... we call each other out. We can use a safe word." Cordell said, feeling proud of himself for thinking of this.

"I love that, a safe word." Geri said. "Yeah? Yeah, safe word, yeah." Cordell asked, smiling. "Great, what is it?" She asked. "Uh..." Cordell muttered, thinking. "Dolly." He whispered to himself and let out a soft chuckle.

"Dolly?" Geri asked. "Dolly, mm-hmm." Cordell said, nodding. "Dolly, as in Parton?" Geri said. "No, Dolly, as in her cloned sheep namesake. It was all over the news when you moved to town." Cordell said, grinning as she sat up in bed more.

"Oh, yes!" Geri exclaimed and burst out laughing. "We geeked out about it." Cordell went on to say. "Right! Yes, yes!" Geri said, briefly covering her face again. "Oh, my God! How did no one else in our class find this incredible scientific advancement fascinating?" She asked as Cordell as an expression like, I know right?!

"Teenagers are tough." Cordell said, smirking. "They are tough." Geri said and Cordell hums in agreement. "Hence my hesitation about telling the kids. Right?" She said and Cordell chuckles softly, then leans in for a kiss.
