5 Months Later

Cordell shoved the chair in front of the counter out of the way as we enter the kitchen, locked in a heated make out session when he failed to leave for work. Our tongues were intertwined passionately as he pressed me against the fridge knocking something off, but I was too enraptured by him to care.I can't even believe it's been five months already. Feels like only yesterday, he and I decided to make us official.
Cordell guided me over to the counter, his hands sliding under my butt to hoisted me up. Immediately I wrap my arms around his neck and legs around his waist, pulling out of the kiss as Cordell turns and set me down on the counter top, settling himself in between my legs.
He cradled my head as he begins kissing and sucking on my neck, practically inhaling me. He moved around so thoroughly, not letting an inch of my neck go untouched. "I don't think I quite made it out the door." He said in a low husky voice as he traces a finger along my jawline and leans in to kiss me again.
I cup his face, gently pushing him back to stop him. "There's still time." I whispered and Cordell puts his hands on me, like he never want to let me go. "I don't want to make it out the door."
"Well..." I said, being interrupted by Cordell planting another kiss on my lips. "That's a different problem." I went on to say and got hit with another kiss. "Entirely."
Our foreheads rested against each, allowing us to finally catch our breath. "But you can't be late when you're leaving early." I reminded him and Cordell looks at me, his eyes glinting with excitement. He leans back down for a lingering kiss that ended with a sensual popping sound when he pull away.
"So you're saying we have a whole weekend ahead of us for this?" Cordell asked, raising both eyebrow with an intrigued look. "Maybe a selective of hearing, but yeah." I replied and pushed him back so I could slide off the counter top.
I turn and pick up a vanilla cupcake I got him, completely with a lit birthday candle. "Oh no." Cordell said as I turn back around to face him, holding up the tiny plate. "Make a wish birthday boy." I told him. "Oh no, no, no, no." Cordell said. "Come on." I said, encouragingly.
"Carbs are not on the menu today, I gotta save space." Cordell said, placing his hand on his stomach. "Really?" I asked. "Yes." He replied. "For the Grand Lonestar's steak-eating competition? That's a full 24 hours away."
"It's all about the prep. Mental and physical. But thank you." He said, then crouches down a little bit to blow out the candle. "Still can't believe you're into this." He said, smiling at me and straightens back up.
"What could be more romantic than watching my boyfriend go toe-to-toe with a 80 ounce steak?" I asked, setting the cupcake back down on the counter. "I imagine all the things." He said, stepping back into my personal space. "You're right. All the things. But you have been talking about this contest since the day we became friends."
"Yeah." Cordell whispered, his eyes flickering down to my lips. "Yeah. So..." I said, being interrupted once again by another sudden kiss. "I'm glad we get to cross it off the list. Even if does mean an eight hour drive." I muttered, not exactly looking forward to that part.
"Yeah." Cordell muttered. "Hey." I whispered and Cordell's eyebrows perk up, almost like dog ears. "Hey?" He whispered back. "You..." I said, pointing at him. "...are still late."
Cordell held up his arm to check his watch and his eyes widen. "Yep. Yep. Okay. Uh... I am..." He stammered, pulling away and going for the chair he knocked down. "Here we go." He said, picking it up and putting it back at the counter. "This."
Cordell then drop his big hand on my shoulder, turning me towards him. "And uh..." He said, leaning down for a drawn out goodbye kiss. "Alright." He mutters and gives me one last quick peck on the lips. "See you tonight."
