(Name), Liam, Trey, and Stella all stood around the hitching post, exchanging worried glances. "You know what, Liam, you were right, your brother's a damn cheater." Trey said, pointing to Liam, who catches on quickly. "Yeah, you know, he's-he's probably gonna do that thing."

"Right, that thing where he's waiting, and then he's just gonna blow past us, right?" Trey said, putting on a no worries smile. "Yeah, yeah. He's just, he's messing with us, Stella." Liam said, trying to quell his niece's worries.

(Name) and Stella share a look, not buying it. "But the winner takes the hat, right?" (Name) asked, gesturing to the hat in Stella's hand. "And you guys are here, so..." Stella added and Trey shook his head. "Don't even worry about it, because I'm still gonna win this thing fair and square."

Trey then jogs back down the path to look for him, followed by Liam. "(Name)... is something wrong?" Stella asked, looking up at her with pleading eyes to be honest with her. (Name) stares back at her anxiously and took in a deep breath.

"Maybe... I'm not sure yet. But I'm gonna do whatever it takes to find your dad, okay?" (Name) said, placing her hands on Stella's shoulders to help ground her. Stella nods, tears prickling her eyes for she knew in her heart that something terrible has happened to her father.

(Name) gives Stella a quick reassuring hug, before she jogs after the boys to help in the search. Stella watches her go, until she was out of sight before heading inside to tell her brother what's going on.

"You know he didn't take a different way home, right?" Trey said to Liam as they begin walking the path. "Of course I know that. I didn't... didn't want to freak Stella out." Liam replied. "Yeah, well, I think it might be too late for that." Trey told him.

"Okay, the shoot the other day, they put a damn bullet through Cordi's hat." Liam said, bringing up the events of when Cordell and Captain James found Cassie's old partner, Miles in a trailer in the middle of nowhere and were then almost gun down by that special ops group.

"From what I hear, that was just crossfire. I don't think they were actually aiming for him." Trey advise. "A damn bullet through his hat?" Liam repeated. "What I mean is, I don't think he was the target, Liam."

"Yeah, but you don't know that." Liam said as Trey sighs. "No. I'm not a Ranger, so I wasn't read in on the official report." He said as they heard hurrying footsteps and seconds later, (Name) came around the bend. "Anything?" She asked, jogging to a stop.

"No, nothing yet." Liam replies, right as Trey spots something on the ground in the shade. "Hey, is this...?" He asked, walking over to the item and picking it up, seeing it's a watch. "Cordi's watch." Liam said, reaching a hand out to take it.

"Em gave it to him when he was sworn in. He never took this off." Liam reveals, holding up the watch as the situation just got more dire. "I'm calling Captain James." Trey announces, taking out his phone. (Name) grabs hold of her locket and begins fidgeting it as she look around the trail anxiously.

Meanwhile, Cordell is being carried down a stairwell by two men and another man leading the way, a blindfold over his eyes and his hands restrained. They enter a long corridor, dropping Cordell onto his back and drags him the rest of the way.

They drag him to a room and into a large cage, slamming him on the opposite end. "Yeah, he's out." One of the captors said as he grabs Cordell's ankle and attaches a chain to it.

"Keeping him here, sir?" The captor asked as Cordell peeks under his blindfold, seeing the man chaining him up like a dog, has a cut on his lower arm. "Until we hear otherwise, yup. Why? You busy?" The ringleader, Cassie's date from the other night, Sean asked.
