(Name's) P.O.V
Today is Thanksgiving at the Walker Ranch and like all thanksgiving, the planning part is chaotic as ever. The Walkers have a tradition where the boys make the food and set everything up while Abby rest, because she does so much around here already and deserves one day off.

Cordell also came up with an idea to hunt and bag a live turkey for dinner this time, which is just so very Texan of him. "You're not serious about killing a live turkey are you?" I asked him. "Yes, ma'am. I most certainly am." Cordell replied, smirking proudly.

"What's wrong (Name)? Not comfortable with eating a live turkey?" Liam asked, dressed up in camouflage. "Not really no." I replied, crossing my arm. "Where do you think the meat from the market comes from?" Liam asked.

"I know but it's easier to not think about what I'm eating when it comes from there." I retorted and Cordell laughs. "I'm guessing you don't want to participate in the hunt then."

"No, definitely not. But you boys have fun." I said, holding up a dismissive hand and he chuckles again as Liam checks their supplies. "Do all we have is owl hooters and roost trees?" He asked his brother.

"Yeah, they're critical for a hunt, sure. But we're behind on schedule already." Liam complained. "Have faith, Liam. Have faith." Cordell told him and Liam lets out an exasperated sigh as Abby comes out to join us on the patio.

"Well, I thought I'd be walking into the middle of Turkey glaze prep. Not whatever this is." Abby said. "Well, you are not too far off, Mama. Just doing a little something different this year." Cordell replied.

"We are starting a new tradition." Liam stated. "Yeah." Cordell said, grinning. "One that your son calls ranch to table turkey." I said, gesturing to Cordell, who looks so proud of himself.

"Yeah. Instead of farm to table, you know Farm to table" Cordell said and shakes the turkey call, emitting turkey noises. I wince at the annoying sound and grab Cordell's hand to stop him from making any more.

Cordell briefly looks taken aback when I touched his hand but then he laughs and looks away, noticing Bonham has come out to joined us. "Daddy!" He greeted his father, who walks over to Abby to hand her a cup of coffee.

"So, anyways, Mama, this year, it's gonna start with a hunt. You know, Stella Blue always said she wanted to mix things up on Thanksgiving. So, I'm gonna send some progress pics to our group chat. Cook up a little bit of FOMO, and before sealing the deal with a Baked Alaska." Cordell explains with a little smirk on his lips.

"So, a turkey hunt on top of Stella's favorite dessert." Bonham said. "Yes, sir." Cordell replied. "I see what you're doing, son." Bonham remarked. "Yeah, that's a lot of big gestures to avoid some uncomfortable conversations." Abby said.

"Or... just trying to guarantee her attendance." I said and Cordell nodded. "Yeah. You know, it's been too many weeks of radio silence since her..." Cordell said, pause to slick back some of his hair that fell in his face. "Since her recent relocation." He muttered and clears his throat.

"I know. And I'm glad that you're looking to mend things. But maybe a pumpkin pie would suffice?" Abby suggested. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! I think someone here is trying to break tradition and get involved with the menu." Cordell said, giving his mother a stern look.

"So, you're the only one allowed to change things up around here?" Abby asked, annoyed. "Hey, no, no, no. That tradition is important. We love you, Mama. But you're not lifting a finger today." Liam told her.

"Everything will be ready by Circle of Thanks. I promise. Hey, what does Daddy always say?" Cordell asked. "Ah, hell. Full bellies and a full table." Liam said, doing a pretty good imitation of Bonham.
