I suddenly realize that I am starving. "Kim Taehyung-shi, I'm hungry. I need to go get some lunch."
He jumps out of his chair. "Oh, I'm sorry! I lost track of time. Let's go to the lounge. We can have food sent up from the cafeteria."
"Oh, you're coming too? OK, great!"
He stops, leaning closer.
"Uhh... what?" I say, trying to surreptitiously wipe at my nose and mouth.
He laughs. "No, I just didn't notice your eye color before. They're so green! Are they real?"
I smile at him. "You mean, not contacts? Yes, they're real. I got them from my dad," I reply.
He says "Beautiful" under his breath.
I study his eyes in return. "And your eyes are really brown. Almost black."
"Black eyes?" he asks in English, pretending to punch himself in each eye.
"No!" I say, laughing and reaching up as if to stop him. "Don't hurt your pretty eyes!" I'm surprised when he lowers his head shyly and blushes. I step back and clear my throat. "Ohh kaay, uh, lunch?"
"Yes, let's go," he replies.
I really dig into a big bowl of dolsot bibimbap, one of my favorite dishes, while Taehyung slurps up some yummy-looking japchae. He pokes his mouth out like duck lips as he chews. I try not to think about how cute he looks.
He bends very intently over his meal at first, but once the edge is off his hunger, he sits up straighter and looks at me. "Do you have brothers and sisters?" he asks in English. I grin, then hope that I don't have any stewed spinach between my teeth.
"Oh, are we practicing English now? OK!" I laugh. "I have one younger sister and one younger brother. And you?"
"I also have one younger sister and one younger brother," he says, smiling. He switches back into Korean and asks me my siblings' names and ages. Just then, familiar voices draw my attention toward the door. In walk Kim Namjoon and Jeon Jungkook, and my ARMY heart stutters in surprise.
