Saturday morning, Tae is so nervous about the Grammys choreo, and so excited to rehearse with J-Hope, that he actually wakes up first. I throw on some clothes and drive him to his hotel, dropping him off at the back of the building.

"I can't stay the night tonight, but maybe we can get together for dinner or something? I'm not sure. I'll text you when I can!"

"Sounds good, love! Be amazing, stay healthy, be wonderful, see you later!" I blow him kisses as he slams the car door and hustles inside, turning to wave when he gets to the door.

I don't see Taehyung again on Saturday; they have rehearsals, planning meetings, contingency discussions, and an early team dinner, so he is very busy. I don't want to just sit around pining for him, though, so I go into tourist mode. I watch the fountain show at the Bellagio (no BTS songs yet, I think those will start next week), take a photo with some chorus girls in elaborate feathered costumes for $10, tour the conservatory and botanical gardens inside the Bellagio, and then cross the street to ride the giant Ferris wheel and look out over the city. For lunch, I go to a restaurant that literally only serves nachos, because we definitely don't have one of those in our neighborhood in Seoul.

I was thinking of heading down to the other end of the Strip to go through the aquarium and see the sharks at Mandalay Bay, but I don't want to do all the good stuff in one day, so I decide to head back to the house.

I am just lounging by the pool after a nice swim, enjoying the early April sunshine, when my mom calls. I switch it over to a video call, so I can show off the nice pool and hot tub.

"Hey, mama, look where I am!" I laugh, turning the phone so she can see.

"Oh, that looks nice, chica! And is your Taehyung there, too?" she asks.

"He was, but he's at rehearsal now." I pout at her. "They have some little thing called the Grammys or something like that, tomorrow?" I shrug.

She laughs, and pours a scoop of kibble for Barkley. "I heard about that. Are they going to be able to perform, though? Wasn't somebody sick?"

"It's been a shitshow, pardon my French, mama. First, Jin injured his hand and had to have surgery a couple of weeks ago, and he's still in a cast, then J-Hope got sick and he's the dance leader, he just got in from Seoul early this morning, so Tae says the choreo for tomorrow is kind of a disaster, and then Jungkook got sick, and he's still sick as far as I know. They can't do the song if anyone is missing, really, but they super extra can't do it without Jungkook. He's the lead singer. Don't repeat this to anyone, but Tae thinks that even if he still tests positive today and tomorrow, the company is just going to pretend that he's fine and have them perform Butter anyway."

My mom is looking at me in shock. "Would they really do that? And would the Grammy organizers allow it?"

I smirk. "For the US airtime, and for the ratings? Absolutely." I roll my eyes. "At least it's only the one song, and JK will have five days to recover after that before the first full concert. But it really has been a shitshow."
