A man bowed respectfully infront of the blonde.
(Forgive me I'm not good with formal greetings and these type of greetings is just to much for me.....)
"I greet the marquis of house phagotos"
The blonde bowed to return back the greeting politely before taking her seat.
"So...why were me and my husband were called here?"
Athanasia said eying lucas who looked like he was in his own world.
"....."
There was silence in the hall for some moments until the marquis irain choose to continue the meeting.
"My lady...."
He started looking anxious about something.
Athanasia wasn't stupid to not notice there change in behaviour...
What even could have happened?
"What is it marquis irain?"
The blonde asked.
"Haven't you heard the news?"
Irain inquired hoping that she knows.
"What news?"
The blonde's confusion didn't faded infact it gradually increased by the passing minutes.
The marquis in the end sighed and came to the point.
"The news about the princess poisoning his majesty..."
The blonde's eyes widened at the news she just heard.
"You mean... Jeannette p-poisoned him....?"
She asked in a low voice looking towards her hands which were on the table.
"Y-yes...."
The ravenette and the other nobles looked at the blonde worriedly...
Though both of there reasons were different.
There was a suffocating silence in the room untill Athanasia mumbled in a low voice....
"Then...."
"What should I do?"
Everyone gasped at her words...well...who wouldn't?
They expected her to cry but didn't expected this response.
"What...do you all want..."
"And who will rule the empire?"
The blonde looked around at the others seriously.
"Well...w-we wanted to talk about that...."
"After the princess and his majesty...only you're left as a imperial blood...so..."
"But haven't she already married the wizard?"
Someone interupted making all the attention move to him...
It was Duke Alpheus...
"What do you mean duke?"
The blonde asked demanding a explanation.
"I meant that...we don't really need the lady when we have the...."
The man who was wearing a cloak behind the Duke came infront removing his cloak and revealing his true identity...
