Deciding Blow

3rd POV

Noctis feels his wound and stares at the blood coating his hand. He looks at Legion who smirks.

Noctis: "Lucky strike. You won't get that same chance a second time."

Legion moves the sword to take a right hook form Noctis. Legion's arms tremble lightly at the new level of strength Noctis is using. No longer was he phoning the fight in. He was actively trying to land a hit.

Noctis grabs the sword's blade. Legion pulls the blade downward, slicing open Noctis' hand. He then thrusts the sword toward Noctis. Noctis however spins out of the way and sends his boot crashing onto the back of Legion's neck.

Legion goes flying before stopping just before the sun's surface. Freeing a hand, Legion aims it as the sun. Its energy flows through his hand and up his arm. Legion aims the sword which then expels the sun's energy.

Noctis zips away, leaving the other planets to take the attack. Once in close Noctis grabs Legion's face and pushes them both to the center of the sun. There they continue to duke it out despite the lethal heat around them.

Noctis delivers a left hook that snaps Legion's jaw. Legion's leg is engulfed in grimm goo which shifts into a bone sword. Legion uses it to impale Noctis' side. Noctis snaps his fingers. His power engulfs the sun and makes it explode, taking everything with it.

Legion looks around the void when a massive Noctis appears next to the milky way galaxy. His mouth comes crashing down on it, consuming it whole. Legion flies to Noctis' giant eye and impales it with the sword. Noctis shrieks as he shrinks back down to normal side, but now holding his eye.

Noctis: "Fucking bastard, you blinded me!!"

Legion zips up close to Noctis, already bringing the sword down for a fatal blow. But Noctis grabs the blade with his still sliced hand, his blood dripping down his arm as the blade dug deeper into his wound.

Noctis: "Like I said..."

He looks at Legion with his remaining eye.

Noctis: "You won't get the same chance a second time."

Tightening his grip, Noctis snaps the sword in half. He then plows his free hand into Legion's chest, latching onto his heart.

Noctis: "I can feel it. All the lives of every hero coursing through you. Their pain, their sadness, their struggle... I feel it all. It's intoxicating. You sought to save them. But you've only prolonged their suffering."

Legion screams as his power is slowly corrupted out of him.

Noctis: "You fought well little one. But now it's time for you to stand down... for good."

Smoke billows off Legion. His voice cracks as his pain hits its peak. But fighting through the soul crushing pain, Legion looks Noctis dead square in his eye.

Legion: "You... first."

Legion skewers Noctis' heart with what remains of John's sword. Noctis screams as a beam of dark light goes into the air. It then engulfs everything, blinding everyone.
