Dr Avery: Crystal my assistant just pulled me out of lunch and said you're having an emergency, what's wrong?
Crystal: my NuvaRing fell out last week
Dr Avery: [chuckles] girl that's not an emergency!! It's actually quite common if you're outchea hunching like animals

Crystal: [teary-eyed] how could this have happened??! I mean yeah we did the most but it wasn't that damn hectic
Dr Avery: maybe it was already lose, you do know you're supposed to take it out and get a new after every 3 weeks right?

Dr Avery: and you were scheduled to change it this week so that makes sense
Crystal: omg this can't be happening
Dr Avery: Crystal I need you to calm down!! It's really not that serious
Crystal: doc yes it is!! I could be pregnant and I know damn well I'm not ready to be nobody's mama
Dr Avery: I hate to break it to you but that's what happens when you have unprotected sex!! You're old enough to know that Crystal

Dr Avery: I'm afraid it doesn't work like that Crystal, we first have to do a blood test to check for pregnancy
Crystal: no there's no need for that!! I took a plan B and Google said that it's supposed to stay in my system for upto 5 days
Dr Avery: Google is not a Dr Crystal, I always tell you this!! And plan B isn't always effective. Especially if taken too late or too soon. So uhm when exactly did you take it?
Crystal: last Friday, at like midday
Dr Avery: okay and then when do you suspect the NuvaRing fell out?
Crystal: [speaks low] uhmm on Friday night
Dr Avery: Crystal you're not making sense, why would you take a plan B today and then put yourself in a position to get pregnant literally less than 24 hours later??!
Crystal: -silent-
Dr Avery: I'm your Dr not a judge! Talk to me, what happened?
Crystal: [sighs] truth is I had sex with my ex on Thursday night and then reconciled with my man on Friday night. I know it was stupid of me, I honestly don't know what I was thinking, maybe me being celibate for too long fucked with my brain idk doc!! What I do know is that I haven't stopped beating myself up about it [crying]
Dr Avery: hey don't beat yourself, mistakes happen! We're only human after all
Crystal: I honestly thought I didn't stand a chance at getting pregnant by either of them because of the NuvaRing and I also thought the plan B was still in my system. Fuckkkk this is such a mess!!!
Dr Avery: [sighs] yeah it is but I have good news and bad news
Crystal: I'm listening
Dr Avery: bad news is we can't conduct a pregnancy test today because it's too early, we may or may not be able to detect it- it's a 50/50 chance really. So I'll set up an appointment for next week, that's when we'll find out
Crystal: [sighs] and whats the good news?
Dr Avery: good news is to remain hopeful, don't stress or panic! Maybe the plan B did in fact work and you're just stressing over nothing. BUT please DO NOT have unprotected sex this week, just so you don't further complicate this
Crystal: [chuckles] listen you don't have tell me twice!!! I'm definitely staying away from dick for a while!!

Crystal let herself into Josh's place because he gave her a key, as soon as she walks in she sees a big suitcase and some papers on the table
Crystal: [yells] Josh!!!
Josh comes downstairs carrying a backpack and he's wearing a tracksuit paired with sneakers.
Josh: hey baby, how'd it go? What did the Dr say?
Crystal: are you going somewhere?
Josh: yeah uhm, this is what I wanted to talk to you about this morning... I'm taking the next flight out to Nigeria, my mom was involved in a car accident
