Close to the centre of the rebel base, in the corner of a dark room, crouching behind some boxes and cartons, Alaukik faced Lalita and said,
"We're in trouble."
"Don't just stop there. Explain what the trouble is," she replied, not looking fazed in the slightest.
"I cannot teleport into the underground room where they are holding the meeting. For some reason, the ground above the room is far denser than normal, and it's blocking my domain from spreading any further. We're going to have to find another way to enter the room."
Without skipping a beat, and not even looking surprised, Lalita replied,
"Is there no other way? Can you teleport us diagonally from a bit farther away?"
"That's not possible, I need to be able to sense the area for me to teleport, but I can't extend my domain into the room. It's blocked off from all sides," replied Alaukik, having a lot of questions, but no time to find answers for them.
"Very well then, we go with our Plan B then."
"Plan B?"
"I knew you both wouldn't have come up with backup plans, and so I decided to come up with one myself. Remember the member we captured, after extracting all the information he had, I made sure to place some subtle hints in his mind. While I might not be able to control the mind of a person very well, I can still influence it to a certain degree. I don't know if you knew, but he is the deputy head of security for this base, and has access to the underground chamber. He was on his regular patrols when you captured him. All we have to do now is come within 5 metres of him and I will be able to regain control of him quickly, allowing us to enter the room even without teleporting in."
"You let him go?! And made another plan without informing us? What were you thinking?! Since he returned, wouldn't it be easy for him to foil our plans by spilling everything that happened to him?!"
"First of all, my control can last up to a day when I am not around them, and so there was no question of him losing control. As for why I didn't inform you, is that really what you should be focused on right now?"
What she did not tell Alaukik, is that being someone who has lots of experience with human behaviour, she noticed something wrong with Alaukik, even when everyone around him felt he was normal. Having been with him for nearly a month in close contact, she had realised a few things about him,
'He is very dependent on his powers, and believes in them too much, never considering possibilities where they might fail him. And from what I've heard from Vinay, he hates it when others question his strength, which, along with a few other behaviours, leads me to believe that he is arrogant. He himself might not realise it, but if I had told him to come up with a new plan, he would've flat out rejected me and felt insulted that I didn't believe in him.'
With a big frown on his face, Alaukik replied to Lalita,
"Very well, but remember, if there is ever a next time, you discuss with us first."
"Fine," saying which, Lalita waved her hand, motioning for them to start moving and go to the guard already.
Seeing this, Alaukik immediately spread out his domain towards the room in the centre of the base, and sensed two people standing guard in front of its entrance. Sensing that it was just the two guards and no one else, he immediately teleported himself and Lalita behind the guards. Appearing behind them, he knocked one out immediately, and then brought another one to the ground, making sure that he couldn't move or make any noise. Seeing this, Lalita, who had gotten used to teleportation, immediately walked up to him and placed her palm on his head. Emitting some psions into his head, she quickly placed him under her control again, and then immediately ordered him to open the doors for them, and lead them through to the underground room. And so, the guard led them into the room, and then opened for them the door that would lead them to the people they wanted. However, before he walked inside, Alaukik knocked out the man, and then threw both him and the other guard in one corner of the room, before sticking them both onto the ceiling, making sure they wouldn't be found out for a while. Seeing this, Lalita said,
"Didn't you question me as to why I let him live? Why don't you kill him now?"
"We don't have the time to discuss morality right now. We're on a tight schedule," replied Alaukik, with a stoic face.
Seeing this, Lalita's was surprised and thought,
'So even you have some kindness in you,' with an interested expression on her face.
Walking through the door, the first thing the duo saw was another long corridor, which opened up to a wide round hall at the end. Inside the hall, there laid a rectangular table, with exactly 7 seats, one at the head and three on each side of the head. On each seat, sat people dressed in similar clothing, with a (blanche) symbol on it. Seeing this, Alaukik didn't hesitate at all, and just nodded at Lalita once before instantly teleporting into the room. Not even a millisecond later, he was standing in front of the person sitting at the head except for one tiny detail.
His hand was in the leader's chest.
------------------
Nearly 100 metres tall, on the roof of the hotel where the trio had been living,
Standing on top of the roof, with his gaze far in the distance, Vinay, who was supposed to look out for any changes in the city, was in reality lost in his thoughts.
'The major, he's hiding something from us. I just know it. He's stopped using his powers as much as he used to before,' Vinay thought, remembering the time when Alaukik tripped and the glass in his hand fell, but instead of catching it using his powers, he let it fall normally.
'If it was just that, I wouldn't have suspected anything. But lately, he's waking up in the middle of the night while breathing heavily. His skin has become paler than before, and he's definitely in pain. Especially last night, he woke up in the middle of the night and started laughing like a mad man! He might believe that he hid it well, but he doesn't know that since that incident in Abman, I've been keeping a close eye on him, to make sure nothing like that happens again. I just don't understand why.'
"Why does he not go to someone for help! I'm right here, right beside him, ready to heal him as soon as he says the word, and yet, he doesn't! He acts like nothing can faze him, but he needs to realise that depending on the one's around you is not a bad thing! *sigh* You know what, I think I've seen enough. After this mission, I don't care about how he's going to feel, but I'm going to make sure to heal him even if he resists. And if I'm not enough, then I'll get someone else better than me."
"Now, now, we can't have you doing that. That would ruin our master's plans! And he hates ruined plans. Say brother, this person looks like he's close to him isn't he? Why don't we take this man with us, maybe that might help push the plan ahead?"
"That's a good idea brother. Indeed, let's take this tiny boy with us."
Hearing these sudden voices, Vinay immediately pulled out a gun from beside his waist and pointed it behind him, only to see that there was no one there, and then suddenly, he felt an immense force behind him on his head, causing him to lost consciousness. The last thought that went through his mind was
'Major, I'm sorry.'

A/N:
Wassup! Here is today's chapter, I hope u enjoyed getting to know Alaukik a bit more. And tbh I should've thought some more when I was making these characters, cause I feel like they have had very little character development. What do you guys think? ;)
Feel free to comment on anything you feel like I should change, or on mistakes I might have made. Let me know that you read the novel. It does a lot to motivate me. PS's are fine, but comments are (to me) the best gift an author can receive from his readers, because that shows that the readers are actually engrossed in what said author's writing and enjoy reading.
Check out the auxiliary chapter to know how u can get me to write extra chapters!
And as always, thanks for reading and have a nice day!
