Y/n's POV:

It was a couple of days after I had found the notebooks and Bucky and I had sort of fallen into the habit of sleeping in the same bed. We both found that we didn't have nightmares when we were together and (to be honest) I still wasn't keen on the idea of falling asleep alone since the kidnapping (which we all now affectionately referred to as 'The Abduction').

It was approximately 11:37 pm when Buck stormed into my room in full Regina George-style (still sweat-drenched from his late-night workout) and tried to pull me out of bed.

"Get up, Y/n/n. I'm buying you a milkshake." He said, grabbing my arm and pulling me out from under the bedsheets where I had been scrolling mindlessly through TikTok.

"You know you can't just buy my forgiveness, right?" I teased, attempting to climb back into bed.

"I do know that," He replied with a half-exasperated grin on his face, "but I also know that you always want a milkshake, so I'm taking you to get one so get up."

I spread myself even farther across the mattress, "But I'm so comfortable, and you stink."

"What?" He asked and sniffed the fabric of his shirt and shrugging before walking into my bathroom. "Be ready in 15 minutes."

-------------------------

And that is how I ended up enjoying my second free milkshake of the month. Well, It wasn't free for Bucky, but who cares about that Dickhead?

You do. Shut up.

I was honestly not in the mood to deal with the question of our relationship status at the moment, were we friends with benefits? Dating? this seemed pretty close to a date if you asked me, but then again it could just be two friends getting midnight milkshakes. After thinking it over in my head, I realized it was probably the just midnight milkshakes.

As I clumsily reached to bring the straw to my mouth again, I felt a drip of the delicious drink start to roll down my lip and drip down my chin. I made eye contact with Bucky, or rather, I looked him in the eye as his gaze was focused on the droplet of pale liquid that I hadn't yet wiped away.

I smirked and licked it , watching as his eyes darted back up to meet mine with a new-found lust in them.

Over the last couple of days, Bucky had been...unusual. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing, I appreciated the flowers and chocolates and room-service that he had been providing me with since our argument (that I'd pretty much forgotten about anyway, but I wasn't going to say no to chocolates) but he refused to even kiss me until he was sure that I wasn't mad at him anymore.

Obviously I wasn't, and I considered telling him but what can I say? I told you in Chapter 1, you should have seen this coming. What the fuck?

Fourth wall brakes and intrusive thoughts aside, I was really horny and my life now involved trying to get Bucky to cave on his gentlemanly act before I jumped on him.

"Enjoying the milkshake?" He asked, smirking back at me.

"Meh." I replied, despite the fact that somehow, this milkshake tasted even better than the last one.

"Did Tony tell you about the movie night tomorrow?"

"Yeah," I answered, "Do I get to choose this time? I feel like I haven't been able to pick the movie in years."

"I think Peter is choosing again," He chuckled, "Why doesn't he just adopt the kid? We can all tell he wants to."

I laughed a little, this was what I liked about us: conversation felt easy, it wasn't difficult to find a topic to latch onto or chat about. "I think May would have something to say about that."

"Yeah, maybe." He smiled down at his milkshake.

God, his smile. I don't know why, but it always made me smile too. It was cheeky and relaxed, most of the smiles he wore were for the public, perfect but forced. This was my favourite smile, casual, natural, maybe a little bit lop-sided. It was gorgeous.

I'm in so much trouble.
