Y/n's POV:

It had been more than two weeks since Bucky had returned and I. Still. Hadn't. Told. Him.

I wanted to, of course I did. I wanted to tell the man I love that he was going to become a father and that I was carrying his baby, but how do you even do that? We hadn't intended to have a kid, we weren't trying for a baby, it had just...happened.

It would have been much easier to tell him before, but I couldn't exactly say 'Hey, sorry you were almost dead for a month, but in about seven there's gonna be a mini-you!'

Nope. That seemed like a bad idea.

"Ok, Dad, can you see your little baby there?" The Nurse asked, turning to Steve as he held my hand.

"I'm not-"

"He's not-" I said at the same time as him before we both burst out into laughter as I kept my eyes on the screen. That was our baby, Buck and I made that.

"Oh, I apologize," The nurse chuckled, walking back over to his desk and picking up an envelope before coming back to us. "These...are the results from the blood test that you took at six weeks." He said.

Steve looked down at me, worried as tension built in my shoulders. Was something wrong?

"Oh!" The nurse exclaimed, realizing his mistake, "Sorry, there's nothing wrong, but we know your baby's sex, would you like to find out?"

I released a heavy sigh. Thank God the baby was alright.

The real question was, did I want to know? Did I want to find out without Bucky? Would this make it easier to tell him? Maybe it would be easier to tell him he was having a baby boy or girl than it would be just to say, 'Hey, by the way, I'm pregnant. And I have been for the past two months.'

My bump was definitely showing now, so I would have to tell him at some point, and It wasn't like most of the others didn't know. Would that make it worse for him? Finding out that his best friend knew before he did? I hoped he'd understand.

"Yeah, could you tell me please?" I asked after what seemed like an eternity.

The nurse looked down at the sheet and was about to speak when I stopped him.

"Wait, Steve, could you go? I just think I'd rather that you didn't know this bit before Buck."

Steve smiled at me and nodded before walking out silently, leaving me alone with the nurse.

"Congratulations." He began "You're having a..."

After the appointment, Steve had driven me back to the compound and I couldn't stop smiling.

I walked straight towards our room, hoping to find Bucky waiting there for me. He was.

"Hi." I smiled as I stepped into the room.

"Hi." He grinned, getting up from the bed and walking towards me slowly, arms outstretched to wrap me in a hug before placing a kiss on the forehead. "Where've you been?"

I started to feel a little nervous and almost pulled away from him before I realized, This was Bucky. This was the guy I love. I was safe with him. I could tell him anything and it would be okay. "I was at the doctor's."

Bucky's arms stiffened around me. "Are you alright, Doll? What's up?"

I shook my head against his chest. "Nothing's wrong, I just- I have something to tell you."

"Go ahead, Y/n/n." He said, his hand rubbing up and down my back, "Tell me what's on your mind."

"I'm pregnant." I told him. "We're having a baby girl."

Bucky pulled away from me, shock and happiness fighting for dominance on his face. "A girl? We're having a fucking girl?"

I nodded slowly.

"Holy shit!" He grinned, pulling me into his embrace again. "We're having a girl! I'm gonna be a Dad!"

I started nodding even faster, my grin growing wider and wider with every passing second.

"We're having a girl. We're having a girl!"

I don't think I'd ever seen him this happy, he was practically jumping up and down with excitement. He ran out to the hallway and yelled.

"Steve!" He knocked ferociously on the door. "Steven Grant fucking Rodgers. Get your ass out here."

The door opened and Steve stepped out, leaning on the door and smirking. "You look pretty happy Buck, finally lasted more than two minutes? She hasn't been home for that long..."

"Shut the fuck up, Punk. I'm going to have a baby girl!"

Steve turned to me quickly, "A girl?"

I nodded, my smile so wide it was almost hard to talk.

"Congrats, Y/n/n. I'm so happy for you." He said, pulling me into his arms.

Neither of us could stop smiling as Bucky pulled me back into our room and started to kiss me ferociously, our breaths mixing as we smiled against each other's lips.

We were going to be parents.
