Today was it, your last day in the Kanto region for a long time. You were sitting out in the park crying your eyes out on a bench. Because of your mom's job, you and your family were moving to the Unova region, which meant leaving behind all your friends. Which meant your two best friends in the world, Chloe and Goh. You and Chloe had known each other since you were in diapers and have always been close. But the best thing she did was introduce you to Goh. Goh was an amazing friend to you as well, but even your little 8 year old heart knew you had a huge crush on him, but now you were leaving. And you were too scared to tell him how you felt. "___!" A voice called out, and you finally looked up. You watched Goh run up to you and you quickly tried to wipe your tears away. "H-hey Goh" "Were you really gonna leave without saying goodbye!?" He practically screamed. You hung your head. It was true, you were. You just didn't think your little heart could take the pain. "___! Y-you can't do that!" "B-but I'm gonna miss you Goh! You're going to be so far!" Goh shook his head and took your hand in his. "N-no! I may be far, but we'll always be together as king as we remember our time together!" Your cheeks turned pink as you stared at your joined hands. "O-ok Goh, I'll never forget you!" You leaned forward and kissed his cheek. While he was stunned, you pulled your hand away and ran toward home.
Three years later, you were sitting on the plane with your parents from Unova to Kanto. It's been a long time, but your parents decided it may be best for you to return to Kanto while they stayed in Unova. The Cyrese family even agreed to house you during school. You were so excited to see everyone again, and getting go live with your childhood best friend. But the best part? Getting to see Goh again. Just the thought of him made your heart pound. Since that day you left him with a kiss on the cheek, you never stopped thinking about him. "Prr?" Your Petilil purred at you from its spot on your lap. You smiled down at it. Your dad had helped you catch it not long after your move to Unova to help you feel better. It was different than other Petilil you'd seen before, yours was a much lighter color and had blue eyes rather than red. Soon enough, the plane had landed, and you had walked out with Petilil in your arms while your dad followed with your luggage. "___!" You turned to the sound of the voice and smiled. Chloe was running toward you at full force, barely giving your Petilil enough time to jump out of your arms. Chloe pulled you into a tight hug, "I missed you so much ___!" "I missed you too Chloe!" "Come on Chloe! Don't hog her!" You nearly froze at that voice. You looked behind Chloe and saw him. Goh. Your eyes met and both your cheeks flushed pink. "Goh!" You smiled and released Chloe. You scooped up Petilil and walked over to him shyly. He had pokemon on his shoulder and a boy with black hair and a Pikachu stood next to him. As soon as you were close, you pulled Goh into a hug, relishing in his warmth. "I missed you so much Goh..." "I missed you too ___..." you both reluctantly pulled away. "Let me introduce you! This is my friend Ash and his Pikachu" You smiled politely at the two, "It's nice to meet you Ash, Pikachu." "It's nice to meet you too! Goh has told me so much about you!" Goh blushed, "Aaash!" You blushed as well and giggled a little. "Oh and this is Grookey!" He motioned toward the pokemon in his shoulder. His Grookey jumped to the ground and tapped your shoe with its stick. "Hi Grookey, and this is Petilil." You placed it on the ground next to Grookey and watched them converse and play. Yoh could almost swear you saw little blushes on both their faces. "Ready to go ___?" Professor Cyrese asked. You shyly took Goh's hand, making him blush, and nodded. You all walked out of the airport, but Goh never let go of your hand and squeezed it.
On the way to the Cyrese household, Chloe, Goh, and Ash caught you up on everything while you were gone, and you told them all about your life in Unova. Goh never let go of your hand the whole time.
A few days later, you said goodbye to your parents as they went back to Unova. It also meant you and Chloe were to go to school while Ash and Goh were going to check something out for the professor. "Ready Petilil?" You asked your pokemon after getting dressed. When it didn't answer, you looked to see it was gone. "Petilil?" You went to go look for it. When you went downstairs, you found everyone sitting at the table eating breakfast. "Morning ___!" Goh said, "Morning Goh, have you seen Petilil?" "Oh I think I saw it with Grookey eating?" He pointed toward a corner of the room. Yammer, Eevee, Pikachu, Petilil, and Grookey were eating, but you noticed how close Grookey and Petili were. "Aw that's cute!" You practically squealed, making everyone look over. "It looks like Petilil and Grookey like eachother." Professor Cyrese commented. "Do you wanna stay here with Grookey then Petilil?" You asked it, and it purred back in response. "Well, as long as it's ok with Goh." Goh looked at his pokemon. "Grookey?" "Groo!" It exclaimed before snuggling closer to Petilil. "Guess that's a yes, and we should get going ___." "Us too Ash." You all said goodbye to the Cyrese family and walked out, ready to go your separate ways. "Oh ___, uh, can I talk to you real quick?" Goh asked. You looked over at Chloe before nodding, "S-sure" Goh took your hand and pulled you quickly to a nearby park, the same park you had said goodbye at. "Goh?" You asked and he turned to face you, "___...I-I really like you! A-and I want to keep holding your hand and making you happy if you'll let me!" His face was almost completely red and your sure yours wasn't much better. "I-i like you too Goh...a-and I'd really like that...I want to keep holding your hand too..." Goh smiled wide and practically jumped in the air with happiness. "Yes! This is awesome! We're going to be so happy ___! Just like Petilil and Grookey!"
Fifteen years later, you and Goh were still together after all this time. Your Petilil bad evolved into a Liligant and Goh's Grookey had evolved into a Thwackey. They also still spent all their time together, and you and Goh have found a few pokemon eggs around them before. You two were sitting together at your normal park, enjoying the calm night sky while Liligant and Thwackey were playing together nearby. You and Goh were holding hands, and even after all these years you would still feel sparks whenever you held hands. "Goh?" "Hm?" "I really love you you know...you make me so happy..." He smiled at you and turned his body to fully face you, "I really love you too ___. I've always loved you, even when we were kids..you were always so happy and kind toward the other kids." He knelt down so he was know kneeling in front of you, "When you left, I can't even begin to describe how devastated I was when you left, or how happy I was when you came back. I missed the warmth and happiness I felt whenever I held your hand in mine." He reached into to his pocket and pulled out a small box. Your eyes started to well up with tears as you brought your hands to your mouth. Liligant and Thwackey also came to see what was happening. "I want to hold your hand forever ___. And I want everyone to know how I feel about you...will you marry me?" You couldn't muster up the words you wanted, and instead you just nodded furiously as tears poured out quickly. Goh smiled and opened the box showing you a ring, before sliding onto your finger and kissing you deeply. "I love you ___." "I love you too Goh."
