You may be late to the game, but none the less, you were excited to start the Indigo League gym challenge! Since you were starting this at a later age compared to other challengers, you didn't have one of the normal starters, you had a Krabby! They were everywhere by your hometown of Fuschia City and had caught one very early on. Your father had informed you that it would be better to start your gym challenge in Pewter City rather than Fuschia City, since the gym leader Brock was always willing to give good advice to new trainers.
Your dad offered to give you a ride to Viridian City and from there you would walk on your journey. "You're gonna do great ___! Good luck!" "Thanks Dad, I'll call you when I get to Pewter!" You watched him drive away and let out your Krabby. "Ready!?" "KrooKee!" You faced the city, "Then let's go!"
You had made it through the Viridian Forest with ease and even managed to catch yourself a Pidgey that you happily added to your team. Now you felt ready to take on the Pewter City gym!
It didn't take long too long to get there after the forest, and soon found yourself standing in front of the gym. You felt oddly nervous and you could tell Krabby was feeling your nervous energy. It was shifting from side to side. "We can do this right? Right...we can do this..." You stepped inside. It was pretty plan inside, with everything seeming to be hewn from rock. A man greeted you at the entrance, "Welcome to the Pewter City gym. Here to challenge Brock?" You nodded, "Yes sir, does he have time today?" "I've always got time for a cute girl like you" A voice came from behind you. A tall guy with dark skin and spiked black hair stood behind you, smiling charmingly. You weren't expecting Brock to be this handsome. You smiled at him, "You'd make time for little ol' me? I'm flattered" You winked. This took Brock back a bit, he wasn't exactly expecting you to flirt back. "Well then, come on over when you're ready and I'll show you what I'm capable of." You followed and took your spot on one end of the battlefield. "Now don't cry when you lose, wouldn't wanna see tears on that pretty face!" "Oh don't worry! I'll be fine! Hopefully tears won't ruin your rugged handsomeness!" You retorted. "Ready Krabby?" Your Krabby jumped onto the battlefield. "Now before we begin, a gentleman always introduces himself to a lady. I'm Brock, the rock type expert of Pewter City!" You smiled, "I'm ___ from Fuschia City! And you're my first gym challenge!" "Then I'll use two pokemon, but you can use up to six. Go Geodude!"
Your battle started and during the whole thing you and Brock were sending flirtatious quips at one another. The greeter at the door actually felt embarrassed watching it all. "I've enjoyed our time together Brocky, but time to finish! Krabby, bubble!" Your Krabby shot out fearsome bubbles at Brock's Onix, KOing it." "Onix is unable to battle, ___ and her Krabby are the winners!" You cheered as you ran up to your Krabby and hugging it while Brock returned his pokemon. "That was a great battle ___, should've known a beauty such as yourself would be great at battle." You blushed, "Thanks Brocky, you were good to. Smart to try and use your good looks as a distraction." Brock's face also blushed pink. "Well I'm happy to award you the boulder badge to show your victory." He handed you the small badge, purposefully brushing his hand against yours, sending shivers up both of you. "Thank you! Now that we've got business out of the way, would you like to go celebrate with me? I've heard you guys have a great barbeque place here." Brock took a step back. You actually wanted to keep talking to him? "R-really?" "Yea! I'd love to take a cute gym leader like you out on a date." You smiled sweetly. "Uh yea, that'd be great! Let's go!" You laughed as he grabbed your hand and practically dragged you out.
You decided to stay in Pewter City for a while to spend more time with Brock, and you loved every minute of it! You two weren't officially dating, but no one could tell. Brock was always holding your hand, throwing his arm around your shoulders or waist, and hugging you to his chest. It was all very sweet and rewarded with him small kisses, normally just on the cheek. But, you had a challenge to complete, which meant you needed to leave Pewter City for the next gym. Of course, Brock knew this, but he wasn't ready to let you go. "Hey Brocky?" "Hm?" "Can you let me go? You're making it hard to pack.." You were trying to organize your bag and make sure you had everything, but Brock had his arms around your waist and was making that difficult. "I'm just trying to get as much ___ time I can get before you go." You turned to fully face him and cupped his face with your hands. "I know Brocky, but I have to do this, you know that..." "Well...what if I came with you?" Your face turned red. "W-what!? But you have to run the gym! A-and it's not like we're..." You didn't finish. "I actually talked to the league already...and they'll send someone to temporarily take over the gym. As for the second part, do you wanna?" "You mean..like officially be together?" Brock nodded. There was no question. You pulled Brock's face closer to yours, kissing him passionately, enjoying the way your lips fit perfectly together. When you pulled away, you were both blushing. You could swear steam was coming out of Brock's ears. "Th-that's a yes?" He questioned. You laughed and kissed him again. "Of course Brocky! Let's pack!"
