A/N: Obviously, the family dynamics and the relationships here are not canon. They're just for fun and for the story!

"Have thy had a good flight?" Your older brother Atticus' voice rang out from the phone. "Is that [Name]!?" You heard his friend, Ortega, ask. You smiled and nodded, knowing neither of the two boys could see you. "Yep! I'm on the train now!" "I am glad thy is safe! Please inform me when thy arrive!" He hung up, and you looked out the train window.

The sprawling  views of Galar whizzed by. You were visiting your grandmother in Galar. Atticus was supposed to come with you, but after the Team Star events, he had a lot of school work to catch up on, so it was just you. Well, you and your faithful Glaceon. It's fur was unlike others of its kind, much lighter in color, but you just loved how unique it made her.

"Next stop! Hammerlock Station!" Your head perked up, and you stood up from your seat to stretch out, your Glaceon following your lead.

After getting off the train at Hammerlock, you were supposed to take a Corviknight taxi to Ballonlea, where you would be staying at your grandmother's home for the summer.

It wad a little nerve-wracking flying around Galar, purely for the irrational fear that a Tinkaton would see the Corviknight carrying you and try to knock it out of the sky. You had to keep reminding yourself that Tinkaton were not native to Galar, but that wouldn't stop you from worrying.

You were relieved when the Corviknight started lowering your carriage to the ground, and pilot's speaker crackled overhead, "Miss we are just about to land in Ballonlea. I would look out at all the bioluminescence caused by the nature of Ballonlea and the fairy types that reside here!"

You smiled and practically smooshed your face on the window. The Corviknight taxi was flying below the tree line where the daylight quickly disappeared under the thick coverage. But the darkness didn't last as spurts or blue, green, and pink lit up various parts of the forest, until the town of Ballonlea came into view.

It looked like a town plucked straight out of a fairytale. The buildings were small and old fashioned, nestled perfectly in these woods. "The Ballonlea gym, correct miss?" The pilot asked again. You weren't sure if he could hear you, so you answered, "Yes!" as loud as you could.

Once landed, the pilot hopped down , opening the carriage door for you. "Thank you!" You smiled kindly, lugging your bag over your shoulder. Glaceon stepped out right after you and you both waved as the Corviknight taxi took off.

Once they were out of sight, you turned around again to face the gym. "Ready?" You asked your Glaceon. She yipped back at you, then you both walked inside.

"Can I help you?" A girl in a pink and blue striped uniform asked you from behind a glass window. "The gym challenges have already closed for this year?" You shook your head, "My grandmother told me to meet her here? Her name is Opal." The girl's face morphed into a mix of joyous surprise, and pity. "Yea she's inside with the new guy, I'll take you!" The girl walked around and came out a side door, motioning for you to follow. You readjusted the bag on your shoulder and followed after.

The girl led you through what looked like a backstage area for a theatre stage. Up ahead, you could hear two people arguing. "Bede I told you that this new trial of yours just doesn't suit the Ballonlea gym!" The other person groaned, "Why would I quiz people who know nothing about me!? That's just stupid!" They yelled. The girl beside you winced and faced you, "Maybe you can help Bede catch a break, hey Opal!" The girl called out before stepping onto the main stage.
