Giacomo x Female Reader

He's tried to move on, really. But....how could he forget her? It seemed like everyone he closed his eyes to would see her eyes, her smile, and...her tears. The last image was always her crying as he broke up with her.

[Name]. He hasn't seen her since they graduated from Uva Academy two years ago. She was his high school sweetheart and the only love he's ever known. Why did he break up with her? He thought it would protect her. The world of music is not an easy world to get into. It takes a lot of sacrifice and waiting around before someone gets anywhere. And how could he ask that of her?

How could he ask her to scrimp and save while he waited for his big break. Sure, he could get odd jobs to help pay for their life, but then he'd never have the time to spend with her. It would break them. It would break her. So he decided they should break up.

It was the day after graduation, and [Name] had wanted to talk to him about something important. He needed to talk to her, too, so they decided to meet at his old Team Star base. He didn't even notice how much more protective than usual her Houndoom was towards her. In retrospect, he should have let her go first. "Aren't you excited, Momo? We're finally done!" [Name] giggled excitedly. But Giacomo couldn't meet her eyes. "Yea.. It's great..." He mumbled. She tilted her head in confusion, "Is something wrong, Momo? What did you want to talk about?" Giacomo took a deep breath. "I...I need to break up with you [Name]..." He couldn't meet her eyes.

"What..?" Her voice quaked, but he forced himself to keep going. "I need to pursue my music. I can't drag you down with me." He didn't look at her the whole time. "I hope you find happiness [Name]. See ya." He spared a glance at her, and his heart nearly broke. She was crying, tears streaming down her face. She was covering her stomach, and Houndoom started growling at him, knowing that he was the reason its trainer was so upset.

He didn't offer any other words of comfort. He simply stood up and walked away.

He was right about one thing, getting into the music industry was hard. He worked many odd jobs and scrimped and saved for a year. He lived in a dingy apartment and either slept, worked at his odd jobs, or worked on his demos. At the time, he was glad [Name] wasn't with him. She deserved everything, and right now, he could offer her nothing.

He had still stayed in touch with his friends, and they had told him that they didn't see much of [Name]. All they knew is that she got a job working on Iono's team in Levincia City. Giacomo had felt his heart rate skyrocket when he found out. He was living in Levincia City. How had he not run into her? Every part of him screamed to run out and find her. Tell her he was an idiot for letting her go and beg her to come back. But one look at his apartment, and he decided against it. You deserved everything. And he could offer nothing.

A year later, Giacomo finally got his first gig. It was a small DJ job at a less than well-known club, but it was a start. One hell of a start. Because from there, he moved onto bigger and better clubs until he finally landed a permanent gig at "Neon." The top club in Levincia, and one that Iono herself goes to.

He had been working there three nights a week for over a year. And the pay was good, really good. He had even been contacted by other music producers who wanted to work with him.

He had finally made it into the music world. But he still felt empty.

He was playing a new track at Neon when the crowd erupted into applause. He looked up to see what the commotion was about and choked. Iono had walked in, "Iono's here! And I've caught you all in my electro-web!" She had another girl's arm looped around her own. [Name]. She had on a tight black dress that made Giacomo drool. She had changed a little, but it was still her. Her eyes darted around the club nervously while Iono escorted her to the VIP section.
