Modern AU

"You know. This is getting really weird?" Ethan stated, watching Silver. Silver ignored him and kept staring through the shelves of books. "You know you can just talk to them, right?" Ethan sighed, looking around to see if anyone had noticed his friends strange behavior.

"Just leave." Silver replied curtfully. His gaze never left its spot. "Dude, you're being really creepy. This is as bad as when you were watching Professor Elm to try and steal his test sheets."

Silver and Ethan were currently sophomores at Johto High School. Silver used to hate Ethan, at least until the boy helped Silver out of a lot of different jams and stood up to his father. Since then, Silver has reluctantly accepted Ethan as a friend.

Silver blushed and finally tore his gaze away to glare at Ethan. "Will you shut up?" "What are you guys doing?" A voice asked, making the boys jump in surprise.

Krys and Lyra were standing there, looking at them with confusion. "Oh, Silver's being a stalker." Ethan waved off. "I am not!" Silver defended. He went back to his staring. Lyra followed his line of sight and then smiled. "Oh, you must be talking about [Name]!"

[Name] was another student at Johto in the same class as Silver and Ethan. And to Silver, they were breathtaking. He had been entranced with them since he laid eyes on them, but [Name] never seemed to notice him.

They were currently seated in the library, engrossed in a book. By the look of the cover, it looked like some kind of horror book. [Name]'s favorite genre. [Name] was always reading one horror book or another.

"Sh-shut up..." Silver mumbled. "Well, don't just watch them, Sil! Go say hi!" Krys pushed Silver, making him lose his balance and stumble out of his hiding spot and out into the open. Luckily, or unluckily, [Name] didn't even glance up from their book. Silver let out a sigh of relief.

But that came all too soon, as Lyra and Krys walked over to [Name]. "Hey [Name]!" Krys called out, taking a seat next to them. [Name] finally looked up and smiled at Krys. "Oh hey Krys, how long have you been there?" Their twisted to one of concern, and Silver felt himself blush again.

They were so cute. He could tell they were just worried that Krys and Lyra were trying to get their attention for a while.

Lyra waved it off. "Nah, we just got here. OK, if the four of us join you?" "Four?" Krys motioned over to Silver and Ethan. Ethan waved, but Silver froze in his place as [Name]'s eyes landed on him. His heart beat madly in his chest. As soon as they smiled at him, he thought his heart would explode.

"No, I don't mind." they placed a bookmark in their book before closing it. "Thanks [Name]!" Ethan said, taking a seat across from them. Krys sat on one side of [Name], while Lyra sat beside Ethan, leaving one spot open for Silver. The other spot next to [Name]. Everyone stared at him expectantly, but he was only focused on [Name]'s face. They weren't meeting his eyes, and their cheeks were faintly pink.

Silver finally took the seat, his shoulder brushing against theirs ever so slightly. "What are you reading [Name]?" Ethan asked, breaking the silence. [Name]'s eyes lit up, "Oh, it's a book from one of my favorite authors about a town that slowly gets taken over by vampires!" They replied happily. [Name] continued to tell them in detail about what had happened in the book. But Silver was only half listening, too entranced by the vast emotions becoming present on [Name]'s face.

Ethan, Krs, and Lyra all looked at Silver, then [Name], and finally each other. They all seemed to reach some silent agreement. Krys whispered something [Name]. Their cheeks heated up quickly and glanced quickly at Silver. Not that the redhead noticed. They nodded, and Krys smiled wide before nodding at Lyra and Ethan.
