Chapter Four
Blossoming Friendship

(Nobody's Pov!)

"So what do you think of the little newbies?" Sei asked, crossing her legs as she sat on the brown sofa.

"I'm excited to see them all grow up! I can't wait to see what they become!" Lucinda said, her hands clasped together. She smiled brightly as she sat on the flower patterned chair.

"I wonder if they surpass last year's heroes." Duke said, crossing his arms as he sat down on the chair across from Lucinda.

"There were so many bright young heroes last year. I'm still rooting for Lacey Gemstone." Gabriel said, leaning against the wall next to the Sofas and Chairs.

"I'm telling you the twins are going to become Elite Heroes." Sei said, thinking back on the twins from last year.

"They're so different, but I was really interested in Marcus Roxhart! His power was just so interesting!" Lucinda said, a bright smile on her face.

The group of teachers sat together talking and laughing. They even started thinking back on their days at the Academy.

"That little Madelyn was having a hard time today." Lucinda said, her smile fading.

"Oh? The little red headed girl?" Sei asked, resting her head on her hand.

"I'm not surprised. I'm expecting a couple kids to chicken out once we get to the harder parts of training." Duke said, rolling his eyes.

"Hey, Don't give up on them yet. I believe they're going to be great heroes." Gabriel said, confidence in his heart. He believed in these kids with his full heart and soul.

"She was worried about being a support class, but I hope I was able to ease her worries. There truly is so much more to being a hero than simple labels." Lucinda said, thinking about how worried Madelyn looked.

"She'll understand soon enough. Don't worry about her to much." Sei said, brushing a strand of hair out of her face.

"You should cut your bangs. It's going to get you killed." Duke said, flicking Sei's bangs causing her to roll her eyes.

"Don't talk about my hair when you don't even have any." Sei said, smirking confidently. Duke crossed his arms and looked away from Sei a light blush dusting his cheeks.

"Shut up." He said, still looking away from Sei. Gabriel and Lucinda chuckled as the two began bickering back and forth.

Maddie walked through the halls of the dormitory admiring the beautiful artwork that hung upon the marble walls. She was so caught up in exploring that she didn't even notice the person watching her.

"You're the girl that spilled my coffee on the first day." A preppy voice grumbled. Maddie gasped and spun around at the sudden voice.

"Liliana! I'm very sorry. I know we got off on the wrong foot, but I was hoping we could be friends." Maddie said, her hands clasped together.

"With you? I don't think so. I can only have high class friends! I'm afraid you aren't popular, rich, or have a famous family. Only people who have Elite Hero parents actually have a chance at this school." Liliana said, putting a hand on her hip.
