Chapter Fourteen
Celebration For The Heroes

(Nobody's Pov!)

"Congratulations! I can't wait to see all of you dressed up at the party tonight!" Lucinda said, smiling widely. The students worked so hard to get to this point. They've all built up enough credits to move on to the next year. They've got a big end of the year party ahead of them. It's great to celebrate their first year completed! Hero training can be difficult so it's important to reward their efforts.

The teachers and the headmaster planned the party for the young heroes. After completing their first year of hero training they can now officially be considered heroes.

The students left the class and headed back to their dorms to get dressed for the party. It was the perfect time to celebrate. Even though some of the students were bummed out about the final exam of the year being canceled. Some of the other students were happy, but the ones who were upset knew who to blame. Philip Flamesburghs. He was dangerous and rumors had started spreading about him. It was said that he killed his family or that he burnt down a city a couple years ago. People also say that he's a villain pretending to be a hero, but only his truest friend knew the truth, which is Alcameano.

Mackenzie and Maddie walked around MacKenzie's dorm attempting to get ready for the party. Mackenzie sighed as she stared at herself in the mirror. She wasn't sure about any of the dresses that the school provided. Her scar was showing in almost all of them. She frowned and touched her neck with her fingertips, slowly tracing around the burn mark.

"I don't think I'm going to go." Mackenzie said, staring into the mirror. She was stuck staring at herself. She couldn't pull her eyes off of her scar.

"Girl! You've worked so hard! You deserve this party. You deserve to let loose for one night." Maddie said, putting a gentle hand on MacKenzie's shoulder.

"I don't want anyone to see this." Mackenzie spoke, motioning to the large hand print on her neck and collarbone area. "Mackenzie, I think you still look nice! Scar or no scar! You're the same old MacKenzie! Please don't skip out on this party." Maddie said, frowning.

"I bet we can find a dress for you that covers you up enough to make you feel better!" Maddie said, smiling widely. "Go take that one off and I'll find you one!" Maddie said, running off to find a better dress out of the selection the headmaster had arranged for the ladies.

Mackenzie nodded and went behind the room divider. Mackenzie took off the light blue dress and waited for Maddie to give her another.

That's when Maddie threw a dress over the top of the divider. Mackenzie looked up at the dress and tilted her head. She was nervous about this and she wasn't sure if she could even go to this party.

Mackenzie grabbed the dress and slowly put it on, more nervous to see herself in the mirror. She  walked out from behind the divider and approached the mirror. She gasped noticing that the dress covered her scar. It was a tight black sequin dress with a slit going up her leg and a high neck to cover her scar.

"It's perfect!" Maddie cheered, clapping her hands, finally seeing MacKenzie's smiling face in the reflection.

"I actually love it. Thank you, Maddie. I really appreciate your help." Mackenzie said, smiling happily.

Maddie looked at herself in the mirror and smiled. She wore a light blue Satin Sweetheart Ruched Split Dress. She matched it with some light blue heels as well. The ladies were now ready to go to the party! It was being held in the big fancy ballroom that half the students didn't even know was in this school.
