Chapter Thirty Eight
The Golden Hero

(Nobody's Pov!)

"It's absolutely terrible. The way crime is rising makes me feel sick to my stomach. All these poor innocent people stuck living on edge." Melody spoke, brushing a strand of her peach colored hair out of her eyes.

"I agree with you. My hospital is so full of injured heroes. I know everyone says my hospital is the best and especially since it's beside the academy, but I'm worried I can't take care of everyone." Eleanor spoke, nervously fidgeting with the end of her white skirt.

"I know, but don't worry Eleanor. You're amazing at what you do and I'm sure everything will be alright. All we have to do is protect the school and this hospital. This is where most of our power is." Melody spoke, smiling at Eleanor.

"I appreciate your kind words. I hope that everything will be alright. Be careful when you go out to battle. I'll be here taking care of the injured." Eleanor spoke, causing Melody to smile wider.

"They don't call me the golden dragon for nothing. I'll protect this school with everything I have." Melody spoke, tilting her head to the side as she smiled sweetly.

The headmaster sat at her desk as the teachers stood in front of her. They were all awaiting her words. The headmaster cleared her throat and finally began to speak.

"Now that you've all arrived I wanted to tell you that I need all of you on high alert. I believe we'll be attacked any day now. I want all of you to do everything you can to take care of our students." The headmaster spoke, her hands folded together on her desk as she spoke.

"Of course. I promise to take good care of our students." Lucinda spoke, thinking of all the smiling young heroes that are counting on them for protection.

"Those damned villains won't know what hit them if they try to fuck with us." Duke spoke, clenching his fists. "Yeah, they'll never take two of our own." Sei said, thinking of protecting Mackenzie and Philip.

"If worst comes to worst we can take Mackenzie and Philip to a safer place." Gabriel said, thinking of teleporting them away if need be. The headmaster nodded and looked at the teachers standing before her.

"You've all done a fantastic job. This is hopefully the final test. Soon we'll no longer have to live in fear of the evil that hides amongst the shadows." The headmaster spoke. That's when Lucinda wraps her arms around her fellow teachers and pulls them close.

"I love you guys! You guys are my best friends!" Lucinda cried out, holding them close. They all seemed shocked at first, but soon joined in on the group hug. They had spent so many years together and it was all worth it. Lucinda wouldn't want to change it. These were her best friends and she never wanted to lose them.

"I'll do anything to protect you guys!" Lucinda said, holding her friends tightly. "And we'll do whatever we can to protect you too." Sei said, smiling as she hugged Lucinda and the others back.

"Mother, please. They're going to need me." Lacey spoke, her hand on her heart as she walked towards her mother. Melody sighed and turned around with a serious expression on her face. She was clearly conflicted, but it seemed as though she had made up her mind.
