Chapter Forty Three
A Villains Sanity

(Nobody's Pov!)

As Crystal walked down the hall she felt a feeling in her gut that she had never felt before. It was a deep dark feeling of dread. She knew she needed to talk Frostine and apologize for having an outburst. After all Frostine's her sister and Crystal knew she shouldn't be that way.

Crystal opened the door to her bedroom and began speaking, but she stopped when she realized there was no one in the room. Frostine usually waited here for her after a long day of work. The lights were out so she turned them on and walked in. Where would Frostine be at this time? Crystal was confused, but she shrugged it off and approached the bed curious as to what the paper was.

She picked up the paper her eyes widening as she read the words. It felt like a horrible nightmare. One that she could never seem to escape. Frostine was leaving and betraying her. She was going to help The Masked Destroyer stop The Phoenix. Crystal began trembling as she finished reading the letter. This had to be a terrible joke. Frostine wouldn't do this. She wouldn't! Crystal couldn't control herself and suddenly the entire paper froze solid. Crystal gasped and dropped it to the ground, shattering it into pieces.

Crystal felt dizzy and suddenly her eyes were so full of tears that the entire film was a blur. Crystal truly didn't have anyone else in the world. Frostine was her big sister. A person Crystal should be able to depend on. Crystal dropped to her knees unable to stand any longer. She let out a vicious heartbreaking scream that exuded pure and utter agony. The mental toll she was feeling was enough to break a person in two. A burst of ice launched from her body, splatting against the walls. The entire room was a frozen tundra and Crystal was in the middle of it on the floor. Tears rushed down her cheeks as she stared at the ground unable to comprehend the situation properly.

It felt like a lie! Somehow Frostine had to have been kidnapped by the enemy. Frostine would never do this to her! Crystal couldn't take another abandonment. Everyone in her life had done this. Her parents... the masked destroyer.. Frostine. Why could they just do this so easily? Why was Crystal unloveable?

The bedroom flung open and the other members of the group peered into the room curiously. Crystal was unmoving on the ground as her comrades stared at her. Crystal was always one to have breakdowns, but this was really unusual. That's when a warm hand touched her shoulder gently. Crystal slowly looked up, staring into the flaming face above her that peered down at her curiously.

"She's gone, master." Crystal spoke, weakly. Her throat was hoarse and her lips were chapped. She waited for the master to scream or burn her, but it never came. He simply kneeled down beside her and wrapped her in his arms, his flames dying down. The other members of the group were shocked, but they stayed silent as to not invoke his wrath.

"Sweet Crystal, you've been through so much. I know you feel as though you have no family, but always remember that we are here for you. We will be your family. The bond we all share is beyond simply sharing blood. You will renounce Frostine and she will become your enemy. You will fight for your true family." The Phoenix spoke, causing Crystal's eyes to widen.

"My family..?" Crystal asked, her head pressed onto his chest. She listened for his heartbeat and it was calming. Thump. Thump. Thump. He was so calm and his heart wasn't racing in the slightest. He was so warm and comforting. His voice didn't have a hint of malice or anger. He was as calm as if he had just awoken from a peaceful slumber.

"Yes, Crystal. We are your family now." The Phoenix spoke, waving off the other members of the group. They all quickly dispersed and left Crystal with the master. He would handle her from here and they knew she wouldn't be a problem anymore.
